Northwestern's baseball team is in a scuffle right now after losing six of its last eight games. Its only two wins in that stretch came in non conference, midweek games vs. UIC and Bradley. Otherwise, it's been swept in two straight weekend series against Purdue and Michigan.

Today, the 'Cats take on St. Thomas in another midweek game they should be able to win. Building up that kind of momentum is important before the team heads to Minneapolis this weekend to face the Golden Gophers.

NU's pitching has struggled all year, but the offense has been in a bit of a slump recently as well. Games like today's are a good opportunity for the lineup to get back into a groove before continuing to face Big Ten-level competition.
