Did Chip Kelly help land NU's recent QB recruit?

This weekend, RJ Day committed to Northwestern after taking a visit to Evanston. Day is the son of Ohio State head coach Ryan Day, who was with RJ on his official visit. The elder day is a National Championship winning coach with the Buckeyes.

One reason the 'Cats may have had the upper hand in the recruitment process here is new offensive coordinator Chip Kelly. Kelly spent this past season in the NFL with the Las Vegas Raiders, but prior to that he was the OC at OSU under Day. He was there when the Buckeyes won that National Championship.

The two coaches have a lot of ties, so it only makes sense that Kelly's presence in Evanston was a selling chip for the Wildcats.
