Northwestern is not the only university with similar characteristics in its name. 

There is already a Northwestern State, residing in Louisiana. Now, there's a new university potentially being formed with the combination of two Division III colleges. 

Williamette University and Pacific University have agreed to negotiate to merge to form the University of the Northwest, via Adam Nelson on X. The two colleges are in Oregon.
