Northwestern has now dropped consecutive games after falling to Nebraska and USC, and the 'Cats currently sit at 5-4 (3-3 Big Ten). Michigan (7-2, 5-1 Big Ten), on the other hand, is still alive in the race for a College Football Playoff berth and likely needs to win out to reach the postseason.
On the basketball court, Chris Collins' squad has started the season 3-0, winning each contest by at least 20 points for the first time in program history. Alongside Nick Martinelli, South Florida transfer Jayden Reid and Cincinnati transfer Arrinten Page have made immediate impacts for the 'Cats.
Although not discussed in this episode, Joe McKeown's women's basketball team has also jumped out to an undefeated start. The Wildcats are 2-0 after wins against IU Indy and SIUE behind a pair of standout performances from Grace Sullivan.
