Welcome to the first episode of The NorthwesternRoundtable Podcast! Host Gavin Dorsey looks to guide Wildcats fans through weekly episodes of Northwestern news, analysis, game previews, in-depth coverage and more!

Ahead of Northwestern's matchup against the No. 4 Oregon Ducks on Saturday, Gavin spoke with Ducks reporter Owen Murray, the Sports Associate Editor at The Daily Emerald. The two discuss what makes Oregon so strong, how the Ducks were able to reload so quickly after graduating so much talent and potential individual battles to watch on the field.

Northwestern will take on Oregon at 11 a.m. CT at Northwestern Medicine Field at Martin Stadium, just off the shore of Lake Michigan. The game will be the first contest in history between the Wildcats and the Ducks, and it comes as each team's 2025 Big Ten opener. Oregon ran through conference play a season ago, finishing 13-1 overall with a flawless 9-0 Big Ten record in the school's first year in the league. On the other hand, Northwestern went 4-8 (2-7 B1G) and placed just 16th in the Big Ten.

The Wildcats come into this game at 1-1 after losing to Tulane in Week 1, 23-3, and rebounding against Western Illinois in Week 2, 42-7. Oregon has cruised to a 2-0 start by virtue of a 59-13 win over Montana State and a 69-3 demolition of Oklahoma State. The Ducks are favored by 27.5 points over the 'Cats.

Saturday's matchup between Northwestern and Oregon is headlining FOX Sports' college football coverage as the Big Noon Kickoff. While the Ducks are likely just aiming to take care of business, the 'Cats will certainly look to use the heightened moment and atmosphere to their advantage as they try to pull off an upset against the No. 4 team in the nation.
