EA Sports College Football 27 has officially released its player ratings, giving fans an early look at how Northwestern stacks up entering the 2026 season.

The Wildcats enter the game with an 80 offensive rating, 78 defensive rating, 85 special teams rating and a 79 overall team rating, offering an early snapshot of how EA Sports views Northwestern entering the season.

Several Wildcats earned strong overall ratings ahead of the new season, reflecting the experienced core returning under head coach David Braun. With Chip Kelly taking over as offensive coordinator and Northwestern looking to build on last season’s progress, many of the team’s top players are expected to play significant roles this fall.

Leading the way is offensive lineman Ezomo Oratokhai, who received an 89 overall rating, making him the highest-rated player on Northwestern’s roster.

Running back Caleb Komolafe, wide receiver Griffin Wilde and defensive back Josh Fussell each earned 86 overall ratings, while defensive back Robert Fitzgerald rounded out the Wildcats’ top five with an 85 overall rating.

Komolafe’s rating comes after a breakout 2025 season in which he rushed for 941 yards and 11 touchdowns, establishing himself as one of the Big Ten’s top returning running backs. With Kelly now directing the offense, expectations remain high for another productive season.

Wilde also enters 2026 following a breakout campaign that established him as Northwestern’s top receiving threat. His 86 overall rating is certainly respectable, but it may surprise some fans considering the production he put together last season.

After emerging as one of the Wildcats’ most reliable offensive weapons, Wilde will once again be expected to lead Northwestern’s passing attack.

On the defensive side, Fussell and Fitzgerald give the Wildcats two of the highest-rated defensive backs on the roster. Both players are expected to play major leadership roles as Northwestern looks to improve defensively in 2026.

Quarterback Aidan Chiles enters the season with an 80 overall rating after transferring to Northwestern this offseason. His arrival, combined with Kelly’s offensive system, gives fans plenty of optimism heading into the fall.

Transfer offensive tackle Grant Seagren also appears among Northwestern’s notable players after arriving from Oklahoma State. His addition is expected to strengthen an offensive line that returns veteran center Jackson Carsello following his successful eligibility case earlier this offseason.

As with every EA Sports release, launch ratings are subject to change throughout the season based on player performance. Still, they provide an interesting snapshot of how the Wildcats are viewed entering the 2026 campaign.

The Wildcats return several proven playmakers on both sides of the ball, and if players like Komolafe, Wilde and Fitzgerald continue to build on last season’s success, those ratings could rise even higher through future updates.

With the season approaching, Northwestern's roster appears to feature a solid mix of veteran leadership, proven production and exciting newcomers. If players like Caleb Komolafe, Griffin Wilde and Aidan Chiles perform as expected, Northwestern could outperform both its preseason expectations and its initial College Football 27 rating during the 2026 season.
