Jeremiah Profit, a 6-foot-5 guard and top-80 2027 recruit, has committed to Northwestern, a historic recruiting win for Chris Collins and the Wildcats.

Those words from Jeremiah Profit came Tuesday as the four-star 2027 shooting guard announced his commitment to Northwestern, giving the Wildcats one of the biggest recruiting wins in program history.
Profit, a 6-foot-5 guard from Rancho Christian School in California, announced his decision after narrowing his recruitment to Northwestern and several other high-major programs.
Profit is a top-80 national recruit in the 2027 class and was ranked No. 78 in ESPN’s SC Next 100. He is also a four-star prospect who has continued to rise on national recruiting boards. Earlier recruiting coverage listed him as a top-100 prospect while noting his size, versatility and interest from numerous high-major programs.
Profit’s commitment represents more than simply adding another talented player.
It gives Northwestern another major piece to build around as Collins continues to reshape the program and establish a stronger pipeline of high-level recruits. The Wildcats have undergone significant roster turnover in recent seasons, making recruiting young talent even more important as Collins looks to build sustained success in the Big Ten.

His defensive ability is one of the biggest parts of his game. Scouting reports have highlighted his length, athleticism and ability to guard multiple positions while creating turnovers and disrupting passing lanes. Offensively, Profit has shown the ability to attack closeouts, get downhill and create scoring opportunities while continuing to develop his perimeter shooting.
That combination could give Northwestern another versatile piece capable of making an impact without needing the ball in his hands every possession.
Profit also has experience playing against high-level competition on the AAU circuit with Gamepoint Basketball. He averaged 21.3 points and 4.0 rebounds per game on the 3SSB circuit, according to recruiting coverage, giving a glimpse of the offensive production Northwestern is adding to its future roster.
For Northwestern, the timing of the commitment is significant.
The Wildcats are trying to continue building after recent seasons that have included some of the best stretches of basketball in program history, while also developing players who can eventually reach the NBA.
