King Kendrick is a four-star point guard from Caldwell Academy in North Carolina who originally hailed from the Big Ten mecca of Columbus, Ohio.
Kendrick boasts offers from major and mid-major programs alike, and added the Wildcats to his list on Wednesday.
"Thanks for the opportunity. Blessed to receive an offer from Northwestern University! #AGTG." Kendrick wrote on his X account, which boasts over 1,500 followers.
Kendrck Counts Ten Other Offers
Kendrick boasts ten other offers from schools including Providence, Texas A&M, Ohio, Mississippi State, Appalachian State, Dayton, Kent State, Arizona State and South Florida and Texas El-Paso.
A 6-foot-tall, 160-pound guard, Kendrick is rated as a top 100 player, the 20th ranked point guard and fourth best player in his state according to 247Sports.com.
Wildcats' Future Roster Outlook
The Wildcats have yet to receive a pledge from a Class of 2027 player but have a bumper crop of transfers and two freshmen headed to Evanston for the 2026 season.
Northwestern's 2026 class includes seven three-star transfer players along with four-star freshman small forward Jayden Hodge and three-star freshman center Symon Ghai.
Collins' new-look roster follows in the footsteps of transfer-heavy programs like departed coach Dusty May's Michigan Wolverines and includes five transfers who stand 6-foot-7 or taller.
The Wildcats' future guard depth looks a little thin which explains Collins' offer to Kendrick.
Kendrick Gets Shout-Out From Kyrie Irving
Dallas Mavericks guard and former NBA champion Kyrie Irving is a fan of King Kendrick's based on recent comments.
Irving gave him a shout-out and analyzed his game at an All-Star event in a video posted to Kendrick's YouTube channel.
Irving said he followed Kendrick on social media and did so because of his unique name, along with his ability to shoot with both hands and his potential to get "so much better" in the future.
