It was a big Wednesday for the Cats on the recruiting trail, with three more commits now headed to Evanston.
Three was the magic number for Wildcats football on Wednesday.
On the recruiting trail, Northwestern locked down commitments from three different three-star recruits for the 2027 class.
DE Jared Zames, LB Blake Loughlin and ATH Amir Hogans all chose the purple and white over long lists of power-five competitors.
Here is a deeper look into the incoming trio:
Jared Zames: Defensive End, Tampa, Florida
Zames made an official visit to Evanston this past weekend, announcing his commitment on X just days later.
The 6'4", 240-pound edge rusher fielded offers from Boston College, Syracuse, Georgia Tech, North Carolina, NC State and Big Ten foe Minnesota, to name a few.
He posted a junior season of 38 tackles (10 TFL) and 5.5 sacks in nine games in 2025, per MaxPreps.
Across his three seasons for Berkeley Prep, Zames has recorded 91 tackles, 25.5 tackles for loss and 15 sacks.
There is a chance he is moved to a different position on the line, but regardless, the Wildcats got a boost in the trenches.
Blake Loughlin: Linebacker, Shakopee, Minnesota
Minnesota's Loughlin didn't have to think twice about heading to Evanston, announcing his commitment on Wednesday afternoon after Northwestern offered him on Tuesday.
At 6'3", 220-pounds, Loughlin recorded 48 tackles and three tackles for loss in his junior year at Shakopee High School.
His 11 Division One offers included programs such as Minnesota, Yale, North Dakota State and Cornell.
He joins New Jersey's Jack Frassetto as the second linebacker in the Wildcats 2027 class, with the team giving attention to the defensive side of the ball.
Amir Hogans: Athlete, Princeton, New Jersey
Arguably Northwestern's biggest catch of the day came in the form of Amir Hogans, a two-way three-star out of New Jersey.
Hogans chose the Cats over a long list of Division One schools, including a handful of Big Ten programs like Wisconsin, Minnesota and Michigan State.
His total list included over 20 offers, with 10 of them being power conference programs.
While his position remains to be determined, Hogans brings an impact on any side of the ball.
At Hun High School, the Princeton product has recorded over 100 tackles as a linebacker and over 1,000 receiving yards as a wide receiver in his three high school seasons.
