A four-star wide receiver from Pennsylvania just made a splash for Northwestern's 2027 class.
Lincoln is coming to Evanston.
This is not about any future home meetings with the Cornhuskers for the Wildcats, but rather their biggest signing yet for the Class of 2027.
Lincoln Cook, a four-star wide receiver from Pennsylvania, announced his commitment to Northwestern football just two days after taking an official visit.
Cook is ranked #27 in the Keystone State for the 2027 class and could be a big-time playmaker for the Wildcat offense.
The rising senior has fielded offers from Yale, Harvard, Buffalo, Syracuse, Navy, Lehigh, Penn, Cornell and Army, just to name a few.
This laundry list of schools shows the magnitude of this victory on the recruiting circuit for David Braun and Co.
Playing for Palisades High School in Kintnersville, the 6’2”, 180-pound receiver recorded over 1,000 yards receiving on 68 receptions, scoring 10 touchdowns in the process.
On defense and special teams, the future Wildcat took away three interceptions and a pick-six, as well as one kick return touchdown, showing off his versatility on the gridiron.
Some publications even had Cook as one of the top cornerbacks in the state of Pennsylvania, but all signs point to him staying on the offensive side of the ball when he reaches the collegiate level.
That same speed is shown on the track in the spring, being a multi-sport athlete and a good one at that, breaking district records in the PIAA.
His junior year was a coming-out party after a sophomore season of 49 catches for 627 yards and five touchdowns, including four games with 100 receiving yards or more.
Cook’s best performance of the past fall came in early September against Catasauqua, producing nine catches for 269 yards and three touchdowns.
This commitment makes the newest receiver in purple and white the highest-ranked recruit of Northwestern’s 2027 class, along with being the fourth skill-position player, joining tight ends Brady Johnson and Wyatt Frey, and quarterback RJ Day.
“I am excited to announce my commitment to Northwestern University to continue my athletic and academic career,” Cook wrote on his X account. “Thank you to the coaches for believing in me and for this amazing opportunity.”
For comparison, this is the first commitment by a four-star receiver for the Wildcats since Naperville Central’s Reggie Fleurima in the Class of 2022.
Could Cook be the next offensive star in town? Time will tell, but it is clear Northwestern is here to play in the recruiting game.
