Northwestern midfielder Keira Kemmerley has earned a call-up to the U.S. U-20 Women's National Team after an impressive freshman season with the Wildcats and previous success on the international stage.
Northwestern midfielder Keira Kemmerley will once again represent the United States on the international stage after earning a call-up to the U.S. Under-20 Women's National Team training camp.
The camp will take place July 5-16 at the Arthur M. Blank U.S. Soccer National Training Center in Fayetteville, Georgia. During the camp, the United States will face England on July 9 and Colombia on July 12 in a pair of international friendlies as it continues preparing for future international competition.
Kemmerley's selection comes after a strong first season with the Wildcats in 2025. The midfielder appeared in 18 matches, making 15 starts, while recording one goal and three assists. She quickly established herself as an important part of Northwestern's midfield, providing composure in possession, creativity going forward and the work rate needed to impact both ends of the field.
Her performances helped establish her as one of Northwestern's most consistent contributors and gave the Wildcats another experienced piece to build around entering the 2026 season.
Kemmerley is also no stranger to representing the United States.
While competing with the U.S. Under-19 Women's National Team, she scored in a 2-0 victory over Germany in Frankfurt. Kemmerley opened the scoring in the seventh minute, finishing a well-worked attacking move after receiving a pass from Jaida McGrew before calmly finding the back of the net.
The goal showcased many of the qualities that have made Kemmerley successful throughout her career. She possesses strong technical ability, makes intelligent runs into dangerous areas and consistently creates opportunities in the attacking third while remaining reliable defensively.
Those qualities make Kemmerley a strong fit for the U.S. U-20 squad, where her versatility and technical ability should be valuable throughout the training camp and upcoming friendlies.
For Northwestern, Kemmerley's continued involvement with U.S. Soccer is another positive sign for a program that continues to gain recognition on both the national and international levels.
