Northwestern quarterback Aidan Chiles earns PFF's highest Week 8 quarterback grade of 92.1 after accounting for five touchdowns against Rutgers.
Northwestern quarterback Aidan Chiles continues to prove why he has been one of the most impressive players in college football this season, and his latest performance has earned him national recognition.
Following Northwestern's dominant 42-14 victory over Rutgers on Saturday, Chiles was named the highest-graded quarterback in college football for Week 8 by Pro Football Focus, earning an impressive 92.1 grade.
The recognition comes after another outstanding performance from Chiles, who completed 19 of 25 passes for 219 yards and three touchdowns while adding 83 rushing yards and two more scores on the ground.

Chiles wasted little time making an impact against Rutgers, connecting with Griffin Wilde for a 13-yard touchdown on Northwestern's opening possession.
He later found tight end Alex Honig for another score before adding a touchdown pass to Drew Wagner in the fourth quarter. Chiles also demonstrated his athleticism with two rushing touchdowns, including a 37-yard run that helped put the game out of reach.
Although Chiles threw his first interception of the season late in the third quarter, the mistake did little to overshadow another impressive performance.
What has made Chiles so successful this season is his ability to consistently make smart decisions, deliver accurate passes and create opportunities when plays break down.
Even when defenses bring pressure, Chiles has shown the ability to escape the pocket and extend plays, making him a difficult quarterback to contain.
And while his five-touchdown performance against Rutgers certainly deserves recognition, his consistency throughout the entire season has been just as impressive.
Through seven games, Chiles has completed 117 of 164 passes for 1,617 yards, 12 touchdowns and just one interception. He has also added nine rushing touchdowns, giving him 21 total touchdowns this season.
Those numbers demonstrate just how much he has developed as a quarterback, especially when it comes to protecting the football and making the right decisions.
Under offensive coordinator Chip Kelly, Chiles has become the centerpiece of a Northwestern offense that continues to put up impressive numbers.
The Wildcats are averaging 34.7 points per game and have scored at least 34 points in five of their seven contests.
His development has also played a significant role in Northwestern becoming one of the biggest surprises in the Big Ten this season.
Chiles has demonstrated that he can lead the offense through the air, make plays with his legs and deliver in important moments, including Northwestern's comeback victory over Michigan State.
The recognition from PFF is well deserved, but it also reflects something that has become increasingly clear throughout the season.
Chiles isn't simply putting together occasional impressive performances. He is developing into a consistently productive quarterback who gives Northwestern an opportunity to compete every week.
And for a program looking to establish itself as a serious contender in the Big Ten, having that kind of quarterback play is incredibly valuable.
With Northwestern preparing for a difficult road matchup against Oregon, the Wildcats will once again rely heavily on Chiles to lead the offense.
If he continues performing at this level, more national recognition should follow.
For now, his Week 8 honor is another reminder of just how important he has become to Northwestern's success.
