A Northwestern Wildcats starter is expected to be available for Saturday's game in East Lansing.
Saturday, Oct. 17's noon ET Northwestern at Michigan State game will feature former Michigan State QB Aidan Chiles and the Wildcats against former Northwestern coach Pat Fitzgerald and the Spartans, among other exciting storylines.
The game will provide a showcase for Chiles and Michigan State QB Alesio Milivojevic, who played some of his best football of the season against Illinois last week (22-of-26 passing for 196 yards and two touchdowns).
The Wildcats are expected to receive help in their secondary in the form of a return by a player who is a difference-maker at cornerback.

Braden Turner is one of Northwestern's most talented and experienced defenders, with some of the Wildcats' highest upside potential based on the two games he's played this season against Colorado and South Dakota State.
Turner, a 5-foot-10, 200 pound senior from Mobile, Ala., has garnered NFL Draft hype, recording 15 tackles, two pass break-ups, and one interception that was returned for 22 yards against the Buffaloes.
He was listed alongside fellow defensive back Timi Oke as "probable" for Saturday's game, meaning coach David Braun and his staff expect him to play after he missed three games with an undisclosed injury.
Northwestern is coming off of a 45-14 win over Ball State that saw Chiles throw for 272 yards, 144 of them to wide receiver Griffin Wilde.
The Wildcats gave up 209 yards passing to Cardinals QB Keldric Luster and 61 yards to his two backups, showing the need for improved secondary play, which Turner is capable of providing.
Oke Coming Off First Game Action
Oke is coming off of his first game action of the season against the Cardinals, against whom he totaled three tackles.
Oke is a 6-1, 190-pound sophomore from London, England who previously had goals of playing soccer before switching to American football. He was given one year to learn American football through the NFL Academy and made his time count.
"I had one year to learn a new sport and pick up Division 1 offers, otherwise I would have (had) to stay (in London) and look for alternative paths," Oke said to The Daily Northwestern in January 2024.
He was told by his mother Shola Oke that she had a dream of him starring in American football in front of a stadium full of American fans.
The Northwestern cornerback fulfilled that vision against the Cardinals last week at the new Ryan Field in Evanston, Ill.
On Saturday, Oke, Turner and the rest of the Wildcats are expected to continue their dream season against the Spartans in hopes of scoring a big victory and remaining ranked in the AP Top 25.
