Notre Dame returns a host of talent on both sides of the ball and has the experience to boot. But what constitutes as an elite roster in college football? In part one of today's show, we talk about the criteria to having an elite roster, what makes an elite roster, where the Irish fall in that discussion and what questions still remain with this talented team.

On What Makes A Championship Caliber Roster...
"There's a couple of things that go into what makes a championship caliber, or elite level, roster. First and foremost, obviously, there has to be a high level of talent across the board. You're also going to need depth throughout and a certain level of talent within that depth. That's why we're so high on what Notre Dame brings to the table this season. A team also has to be good in key areas and limit the questions within those key areas. For the Irish, they're sound and have loads of talent and potential in both trenches, at the quarterback position and the cornerback position. All of those ingredients make up a championship caliber roster."
On The Remaining Questions On Notre Dame's Roster...
"Like any team in college football, like we'll discuss here in a few minutes, Notre Dame still has some questions remaining on their roster. Offensively, there's some questions about the proven production at wide receiver, running back and the tight end position. Each room has an exceptionally high ceiling, with the ceiling of the wide receiver room potentially being the highest, but it's still a question.
Defensively, what role will the defensive line play? Will they be another elite unit or will they do their part in being a really, really good unit on an elite roster? All of those are valid questions when looking at the outlook of Notre Dame's season. Now, there's a level of projection needed with the rankings we created, but the outlook on their season is exceptionally high when talking about the talent on their roster."
