Notre Dame beat out Miami and Texas A&M for the nation's premier New Jersey prospect Oluwasemilore Olubobola, securing a fifth consecutive five-star tackle to anchor their 2027 class.

Notre Dame has landed a massive pickup with Jersey City, N.J./St. Peter's Prep offensive tackle Oluwasemilore Olubobola committing to the Fighting Irish. It's a huge victory for Notre Dame, who beat Miami and Texas A&M to land this big time talent. It marks the fifth season in a row that Notre Dame has landed a five-star offensive tackle.

The 6-6, 295-pound offensive tackle had a very fast courtship with the Fighting Irish program. Olubobola wasn't offered by Notre Dame until March 19th, but the relationship between him and the Irish staff grew quickly. He made his first — and so far only — visit to Notre Dame for the Blue-Gold Game on April 25th. Coming out of the visit it seemed as though Notre Dame still had a lot of work to do to even be a contender to land Olubobola. But that didn't stop the Notre Dame staff from pushing yard for Olubobola, and by the beginning of May the Irish were the team to beat.

Olubobola is a long, athletic and physical offensive lineman. While he'll need to continue improving his technical game, especially in pass pro, his raw talent is elite. Olubobola has elite length on the edge, and he knows how to use that length as a weapon. He shows an explosive burst off the line, drives his legs through contact and is a powerful finisher in the run game. Olubobola is a smooth athlete with nimble feet and easy change of direction skills.

The St. Peter's standout is ranked as the nation's No. 17 overall player in the country and the No. 2 offensive tackle according to 247Sports. He's ranked as the No. 20 overall player in the country and the No. 3 offensive tackle according to Rivals/On3. Both rank him as the No. 1 player in the state of New Jersey.

Olubobola is the third offensive lineman to commit to Notre Dame in the 2027 class, joining Pennsylvania offensive tackle James Halter and Wisconsin lineman Richie Flanigan. The trio fits well together, with Halter playing right tackle for Pittsburgh Central Catholic and Flanigan projecting to play inside. Olubobola is a standout left tackle for St. Peter's Prep. With defensive end Aidan O'Neil already committed, Notre Dame now has commitments from the No. 1 and the No. 3 players in the state of New Jersey.

His offer list was outstanding. On top of offers from Notre Dame, Miami and Texas A&M, Olubobola also earned offers from Ohio State, Texas, LSU, Oregon, Florida, Michigan, Florida State, Penn State, Tennessee, Auburn, Ole Miss, South Carolina, Wisconsin, Michigan State, Nebraska, Washington, Virginia Tech, Texas Tech, UCLA, Pittsburgh, North Carolina, Kentucky, Virginia, Georgia Tech, Vanderbilt, Duke, Illinois, Minnesota, Syracuse, Wake Forest, Boston College, Maryland, UCF and Rutgers.

Olubobola is the 15th player to commit to Notre Dame in the 2027 class. He joins Florida quarterback Champ Monds, Texas running back Lathan Whisenton, Massachusetts running back Isaiah Rogers, Colorado wide receiver Jackson Coleman, Oklahoma tight end Titus Hawk, Halter, Flanigan, O'Neil, Florida linebacker Amarri Irvin, North Carolina cornerback Xavier Hasan, Ohio cornerback Ace Alston, Florida safety Zayden Gamble, Florida nickel John Gay III and North Carolina long snapper Sean Kraft.
