From Harrison Smith’s historic interception to Kyren Williams’ dominant ground game, Notre Dame alumni ignited the gridiron with highlight-reel performances and career milestones across a high-octane Week 7.
It was another extremely productive week for some former Notre Dame stars in the NFL this weekend. Starting off in some Thursday night football action, 2025 tight end Eli Raridon hauled in his second career touchdown pass against the Chicago Bears on the road. Raridon finished the night with three receptions, 56 yards and one touchdowns in their 30-24 loss to the Bears. Chicago tight end Cole Kmet caught three passes of his own for 28 yards but left the game with an injury and has since been placed on IR.
Diving into the Sunday slate, Baltimore Ravens safety Kyle Hamilton continued his productive 2026 season with four tackles and 1.0 tackle for a loss. The Ravens lost at home 35-13 to the Bengals, but Hamilton continues to put up numbers. So far on the season, the 6-4, 218-pound safety has recorded 46 tackles, one forced fumble, 1 interception and four passes defensed.
Fellow former Notre Dame safety Harrison Smith finished his outing against the Colts with four total tackles, 0.5 tackles for a loss and a game-sealing interception on the Indianapolis' final drive of the game. Smith is just the 3rd player in NFL history with 40 interceptions and 20 or more sacks in his NFL career.
Another star safety from South Bend, Atlanta Falcons ball hawk Xavier Watts recorded seven tackles today in their big, upset win over the San Francisco 49ers. The former Bronko Nagurski Award winner remains one of the top second-year defensive backs in the league and is building on his strong rookie season from 2025. Kansas City Chiefs linebacker Drue Tranquil led the team in tackles in their road contest against the Seattle Seahawks last night with 13 total tackles despite losing 20-3.
As good of a weekend as it was for the former defensive standouts, former offensive stars put on a show in Week 7. Rookie wide receiver Malachi Fields recorded four receptions for 83 yards in the Giant's overtime win over the Houston Texans on the road. Both stats were career-highs for the 6-4, 222-pound boundary receiver.
Tight ends Mitchell Evans and Michael Mayer also had solid days at the office going for two receptions for 39 yards and three receptions for 32 yards respectively. Right tackle Mike McGlinchey helped the Denver Broncos in their 30-16 victory over the Arizona Cardinals on the road. The Broncos rushed for a season-high 159 yards aided by a 62-yard touchdown run by quarterback Bo Nix.
Finally, former Notre Dame running back Kyren Williams had really productive day in their road victory over the Las Vegas Raiders. Williams rushed for 99 yards and one touchdown on 16 carries and also caught two passes for 22 receiving yards. The 5-9, 207-pound back now has 393 rushing yards, four rushing touchdowns, 217 receiving yards and one receiving touchdown through seven games this season.
