Forget the hype. Jadarian Price delivered explosive Combine results, showcasing his dual-threat talent and proving he's a No. 2 running back worth watching.

Understandably so, a lot of the attention in the running back draft class this season is going to fellow Notre Dame running back Jeremiyah Love. But let's not forget about Jadarian Price who averaged more yards per touch than Love in 2025 and is just as explosive as the St. Louis native. Price finished 2025 with 674 rushing yards and 11 rushing touchdowns. He also added two 100-yard kick returns for touchdowns this season as well. Today, he showcased down in Indianapolis why he should be the solidified No. 2 running back in this draft class.

Combine Performance Recap

After this weekend, a lot of the attention will be on Notre Dame running back Jeremiyah Love who analysts like Daniel Jeremiah have ranked as their No. 1 running back prospect. But fellow Fighting Irish running back Jadarian Price made a name for himself down in Indianapolis this afternoon. Jeremiah also had Price listed as one of his Top 50 draft prospects in his list he published earlier this week. When breaking down the Texas native's game, he had this to say:

"Price is a compact running back with terrific vision and balance," Jeremiah explained. "He split carries with Jeremiyah Love in Notre Dame’s offense. Price is a patient runner, letting blocks develop before bursting through the line of scrimmage. He runs low to the ground and has supreme contact balance. He is adept at stepping through low tackles and can make defenders miss in space. Price has reliable hands, but Love handled the bulk of the pass-catching duties out of the backfield."

"In pass protection, Price is quick to identify blitzers and closes the distance before launching into the defender," Jeremiah continued on about Price. "He has suffered fumble issues (three inside the opposition’s 10-yard line in 2025). He provides home run ability as a kickoff returner, taking two for touchdowns in 2025. Overall, Price is overshadowed by his former teammate (Love), but the Notre Dame product has NFL-starter traits." - NFL Draft Analyst

Price surpassed some expectations and put on a show at the combine. His official 4.49 40-yard dash time tied him for 6th amongst the running backs who ran. His 35" vertical ranked 8th amongst the running backs in the field and his 10'4" broad jump tied him for third with UTSA running back Robert Henry Jr. and Clemson running back Adam Randall. His testing numbers were pretty impressive, but where Price really shined was the on-field drills which followed.

Similar to Love, Price showcased his abilities as a very smooth athlete. Since the 2024 season, I've said that the Texas native was the best lateral cutter in the running back room, and through various bag work drills, that was proven to be true. He was very clean navigating in and out of the bags and had the best change of direction amongst the group, something that should come as a surprise to anyone who has watched Price the last three seasons in South Bend.

The 5-11, 203-pound back wasted little to no movement going through bag work and continued to impress once they got into the open-field pass catching drills. He ran an outstanding wheel route up the far sideline, but the pass was sailed over his head. Fortunately, that didn't take away from the route Price ran; his route running ability was an aspect of his game many questioned heading into the combine. I think he put some of those questions to rest after his performance today.

Price had the most complete performance from a Notre Dame running back in quite some time after putting up a 4.49 40-yard dash which surpassed previous Irish tailbacks like Audric Estime, Kyren Williams and Dexter Williams. It's still uncertain whether Price will compete at Notre Dame's Pro Day, but what is certain is that the former Fighting Irish back solidified his position as the No. 2 running back in the class and increased his chances of sneaking into the first round.
