Notre Dame Buy/Sell/Hold cover image

Recruiting hot spots, offensive line dominance, and future stars. Get the expert take on Notre Dame's football program.

Notre Dame's spring practice is right around the corner; next week, we will get our first look at the 2026 football program. In the mean time, we have another loaded week of content coming your way, and there's no better way to get it kicked off than with our weekly Buy/Sell/Hold. Like they do every week, the premium message board subscribers brought the heat and submitted some great topics that we discussed.

This week, we discussed everything from former Notre Dame standouts and the outlook on the upcoming spring practices to a general overview of the most talented position rooms on Notre Dame's rosters and our favorite sports movies. You can listen to all of that and more on today's episode of the Irish Breakdown Podcast.

You can watch the entire episode here:

Here are some of the submissions we answered in today's edition of the Buy/Sell/Hold:

On Priority States Along The Recruiting Trail...

"I don't know if I'd consider California in the top four priority states for Notre Dame's recruiting pipeline. I agree with Texas and Florida, but North Carolina should be significantly higher than California. We'll talk about this more on Wednesday's show, but the Chicago-land area should be higher than California. With James Franklin no longer at Penn State, Pennsylvania is now a state that Notre Dame has to create a strong hold in. There's still talented players on Notre Dame's roster from the west coast, but the majority of their impact players are from Florida, Texas, North Carolina and other east coast states.

On The Offensive Line Being The Most Talented Position Group On Offense...

"They're definitely number one for me, and I don't know if number two is overly close. The level of talent and potential early first-round NFL draft picks in that room alone is outstanding. I'd say the wide receivers are second, tight ends third, quarterbacks fourth and then running backs fifth, and that says more about how talented the offense is than the overall state of the running back room. There's a lot of potential in the wide receiving corps, it's one of the reasons I'm so high on them heading into the season, but it's definitely the offensive line room first."

On Tae Johnson Being Viewed Similar To Kyle Hamilton By The End Of His Career...

"In terms of being a star player that's very productive and a day one to day two NFL Draft pick, I definitely buy this. Johnson has an exceptionally high ceiling. Now, do I think he will have a season similar to what Kyle Hamilton had in 2020? That remains to be seen, but the possibility is definitely there. There's a chance that we only might see Tae start for Notre Dame for two years if they have the season we think they'll have, but I definitely agree with this submission."
