Irish Breakdown podcast dives into Isaiah Rogers' commitment, CJ Carr's draft potential, and Leonard Moore's elite outlook. Buy, sell, or hold the latest Notre Dame recruiting news.

Another week of the 2026 offseason is kicking off and it was off to a hot start. To get us started this week, a running back from the 2027 class, Isaiah Rogers, committed to the University of Notre Dame. He's now the second running back committed to this class to go along with Texas native Lathan Whisenton. Today, we started off the show going over his commitment, the back story, the class impact, broke down some film and talked about what's next for the Fighting Irish on the recruiting trail.

Like we always do, we had a buy/sell/hold today to get us kicked off for the week. Our premium message board subscribers, once again, didn't disappoint with their submissions. We covered a wide variety of topics from NIL and future NFL draft prospects to our movie preferences and who's breakout would be the most this spring. You can watch all of that and more in today's episode of the Irish Breakdown Podcast.

Here are some of the main submissions we answered on today's episode:

On Isaiah Roger's Commitment To The 2027 Class...

"He's a very talented player. Now, Notre Dame is in a position where they're going to bring in four impactful running backs in the span of two years. In the 2026 cycle, they brought in Javian Osborne and Jonaz Walton. Last week, they picked up a commitment from Whisenton and today they picked up Rogers who is an excellent fit in the backfield. They compliment each other well and he's a very smooth athlete. Rogers is also a strong fit at Notre Dame. During his visit a couple of weekends ago, he really valued the education and the other aspects Notre Dame brings to the table. This was a really strong pick up."

On If CJ Carr Leaves For The 2027 NFL Draft...

"Look, if CJ has the season we think he's going to have, that's a strong possibility. I don't know if they're going to look to the portal to take another quarterback. That all depends on the readiness of Noah Grubbs, Blake Hebert and Teddy Jarrard. If you're Gino Guidugli, you can't go 0-3 in development with those kids to get them ready. I don't think they would go back for Kenny Minchey even if he had a strong season, but it's not out of the realm of possibility depending on how his first year as a starter goes for Will Stein at Kentucky."

On Leonard Moore's Outlook On The 2026 Season...

"He absolutely has the potential to be a top five draft pick in the 2027 NFL Draft, but some of that will depend on the needs of some of the teams in the top five. It's not out of the realm of possibility that both Carr and Moore go in the top five, but it will all just depend on what teams will need. I think he'll put up some gaudy numbers this year in terms of interceptions, pass breakups, tackles and reception rate. Shockingly, I think teams will still target him for reasons that I'll never understand. They did it in 2025 and that was after watching what he did as a true freshman in 2024."
