A dominant second-half surge against Navy secures the Irish a stable ranking, setting the stage for a high-stakes top-ten showdown against top-ranked Miami in South Bend next weekend.

Notre Dame remained at No. 6 in the latest US LBM Coaches Poll after its 35-13 win over Navy, setting up a matchup of Top 10 teams next weekend in South Bend. The Irish struggled early against the Midshipmen, taking a 14-13 lead into halftime but dominated in the second half as part of a 28-0 scoring stretch that improved the Irish to 7-1.

Notre Dame fell to No. 8 two weeks ago after losing to BYU, but the Irish moved up two spots a week ago after multiple upsets. Despite the convincing win over Navy, the Irish remained at No. 6, getting passed up by the undefeated UCLA Bruins, who beat Nevada 27-0 this weekend.

Miami remains at No. 1 following their 38-35 comeback win over North Carolina, which keeps the Hurricanes a perfect 8-0 on the season. Notre Dame will host the Hurricanes next weekend inside Notre Dame Stadium in a matchup between the No. 1 and No. 6 teams in the Coaches Poll. It marks the second straight season these two teams will both be ranked when they face off against each other. Miami won last season's game 27-24, but the Irish will look to end the two-game win streak the Hurricanes currently have in this rivalry.

Indiana remains at No. 3 in the Coaches Poll despite its recent stretch of ugly play that saw it need overtime to beat both Michigan and Minnesota. Georgia moved up to No. 2 after its beat down of Florida, who fell out of the Top 25 following their 27-8 loss to the Bulldogs. Florida was replaced in the Top 25 by New Mexico, who improved to 7-0. Ohio State was No. 2 last week but the Buckeyes fell to No. 10 after getting blasted by USC this weekend, which jumped the Trojans up to No. 17.
