Notre Dame beat out SEC and Big 12 powers for this 6-foot-7 dual-sport star, a vertical threat who averaged nearly 20 yards per catch in Oklahoma.
Notre Dame has landed a crucial pickup in the 2027 class with Choctaw, Okla./Choctaw tight end Titus Hawk announcing his commitment to the Fighting Irish. Notre Dame beat out Florida and Oklahoma State to land this talented two-sport star.
Hawk has been a top target for Notre Dame for well over a year, and he was a frequent visitor to South Bend. His first visit was for last summer's Irish Invasion camp, and Hawk's performance certainly caught the eye of the Notre Dame coaches. The staff was able to get him back on campus to watch their 49-10 victory over Navy. Notre Dame continued to make Hawk a priority this offseason, but it was during his visit the weekend of the Blue-Gold Game that saw the Irish staff — led by Harris Bivin and Mike Denbrock — make their final big push. Hawk made a final visit to West Virginia this weekend, but coming out of that visit was clear that Notre Dame was the place he wanted to be.
The Choctaw standout had an outstanding junior season, earning Oklahoma Prep Tight End of the Year honors and earning a straight straight All-State honor. Hawk caught 31 passes for 644 yards and eight touchdowns, averaging 20.8 yards per catch during the season. Hawk caught 20 passes for 365 yards and seven touchdowns as a sophomore. Over the last two seasons, Hawk has averaged an impressive 19.8 yards per catch and has scored 15 touchdowns on 51 total catches.
At 6-7 and 210 pounds, Hawk is still on the thin side, but he's a powerful player and an athletic pass catcher. He does his best work in the run game and then stretching the field in the pass game. Hawk has impressive ball skills, and the Choctaw coaches will use him to make big plays in the screen game. Hawk is also an outstanding baseball player for Choctaw. He's a left handed hitting first baseman that wants to play both sports in college.
Hawk is ranked as a four-star recruit by ESPN and he earned a 4.5-star upside grade on the Irish Breakdown board, which is a Top 75 caliber prospect ranking. Hawk earned scholarship offers from the Irish, Miami (Fla.), Alabama, Florida, Oklahoma, Texas A&M, Michigan, Florida State, Ole Miss, Texas Tech, Penn State, Nebraska, Auburn, Missouri, Virginia Tech, Houston, Baylor, Kansas State, Arizona State, Arkansas, TCU, Utah, Oklahoma State, West Virginia, SMU, Vanderbilt, Duke, North Carolina, Kansas, Arizona, Boston College, Purdue, Stanford and California.
Hawk is the 14th player to commit to Notre Dame in the 2027 class. He joins Florida quarterback Champ Monds, Texas running back Lathan Whisenton, Massachusetts running back Isaiah Rogers, Colorado wide receiver Jackson Coleman, Pennsylvania offensive lineman James Halter, Wisconsin offensive lineman Richie Flanigan, New Jersey defensive end Aidan O'Neil, Florida linebacker Amarri Irvin, North Carolina cornerback Xavier Hasan, Ohio cornerback Ace Alston, Florida safety Zayden Gamble, Florida nickel John Gay III and North Carolina long snapper Sean Kraft.
