Notre Dame landed a talented 2027 quarterback last summer when Georgia star Teddy Jarrard pledged to the Irish. In December, we learned that Jarrard was reclassifying to the 2026 class, which meant the Irish were back on the board at quarterback.
Notre Dame has targeted three quarterbacks so far in the 2027 class.
Here’s a look at the three quarterback names you want to know right now:
Height/Weight: 6-2, 215
Hometown/High School: Vero Beach, Fla./Vero Beach
Monds was the first of the three quarterbacks on the current board to get offered, and there’s likely a reason for that. Originally part of the 2028 class, Monds reclassified after his sophomore season. It was a frustrating season for Monds, who played parts of only five games due to injury. As a freshman in 2024, Monds passed for 2,234 yards, rushed for 502 yards and racked up 32 touchdowns. The talented Florida signal caller plans to visit Notre Dame on April 18th.
Monds is a very gifted young quarterback with an elite frame and a powerful, powerful right arm. The ball explodes out of his hand and he has a compact release. There literally isn’t a throw he can’t already make. His motion is relatively smooth and clean, and as he gets older and more experience his ability to repeat that delivery will improve. Monds shows a really good feel for reading and processing for such a young quarterback. He shows a good feel for ball placement and he mixes up velocity like a vet. There are plenty of snaps where he’ll see a player about to come open so he’ll quickly get into his throwing motion and quickly throw the receiver open. Monds can make a lot of plays with his legs, both as a scrambler and designed runner, but he does his best work in the throwing game.
Height/Weight: 6-6, 215
Hometown/High School: Sarasota, Fla./Cardinal Mooney
Davidson was offered last week and he’s a fast rising quarterback. A first-year starter in 2025, Davidson led Cardinal Mooney to a state championship while throwing for 2,360 yards and 23 touchdowns. He went 13-15 for 168 yards and two touchdowns in the state championship win over Bolles. Davidson was a high school teammate of Notre Dame signee Elijah Golden and played for former Irish quarterback Jared Clark.
Davidson is just scratching the surface of how good he can be. I love the arm talent that Davidson showed in 2025. He has a really live arm and has really easy power as a passer. He’s very tall and has long arms, so his release is a bit longer. Right now he doesn’t always control it well, which isn’t abnormal for such a long-limbed quarterback at his age. This will continue to be harnessed and will allowed him to be more consistent with his ball placement as he gets older. But when he’s right the ball comes out extremely well and gets on receivers in a hurry. He can power the ball and also throw with touch when needed. He’s got some gun slinger to his game, which I love. He’s a solid athlete but I like how well he throws on the run.
Height/Weight: 6-3, 215
Hometown/High School: Salt Lake City, Utah/West
Lopati is an Illinois commit whose recruitment has really taken off the last couple of months. He’s the most experienced and proven quarterback on the board, having passed for 5,721 yards, rushed for 1,377 yards and accounting for 72 touchdowns the last two seasons. He led Salt Lake City West to an 11-2 record and a trip to the state semifinals this past season.
Lopati is a really impressive dual-threat quarterback and he’s the most dynamic athlete and runner on the board. He’s a legit weapon as a designed runner and his scrambling skills are really impressive. Lopati has a clean and repeatable throwing motion despite having a lower release. He has good arm strength and he changes up arm speed extremely well. Lopati throws well on the move but he’s also impactful sitting in the pocket. He progresses well and he’s accurate. Lopati has no problem attacking the middle of the field, and while he doesn’t have quite the same power as the other two QBs on the board he gets the ball downfield quite well. He’s a gamer and has really good playmaking skills.
