There is an old friend coming back to Columbus, OH on Saturday to take on the Ohio State Buckeyes.
Former Tennessee Volunteer quarterback Nico Iamaleava will now leads the UCLA Bruins into the Horseshoe as they put the finishing touches on a disappointing season.
Iamaleava found himself as QB1 for the Bruins late in the offseason after his relationship with the Volunteers soured at the end of the year, and he backed away from the program. The decision to enter the portal caused him to return home back to Southern California.
Following his move to UCLA, the then-Bruins quarterback Joey Aguilar saw the writing on the wall and decided to transfer out of the program. Aguilar ended up at Tennessee, and the chess match basically resulted in a straight-up trade between Tennessee and UCLA.

Iamaleava's baptism into Big Ten Football last year was not a pleasant one. The Buckeyes teed off on him, and he had a night to forget.
The former five-star quarterback completed 14 of his 31 attempts for 104 yards while carrying the ball an astounding 20 times for just 47 yards and two scores. The Buckeyes rolled past the Volunteers in a 42-17 victory to begin their climb to the National Championship.
The story early this week was the second edition of the College Football Playoff rankings. Ohio State, as no surprise, sits at the top of the charts with the #1 ranking. The way that it sits right now, the Buckeyes would be facing the winner of Notre Dame and Oregon.
Either way it shake out would create a rematch scenario from last year's Playoff. All eyes would be on the Irish and Ducks' first-round game, with the right to avenge the 2024 season on the line.
The biggest question with these rankings is who is coming out of the ACC. The current highest-ranked team in the conference is the Miami Hurricanes, but it is very unlikely that they will make the ACC Championship Game. Instead, it will likely be some combination of Georgia Tech, Virginia, or Pittsburgh.
The top-ranked G5 Team is the USF Bulls, who are rolling through the American Athletic Conference, and they would get the nod as the 12 seed. They would receive the unlucky matchup with the Georgia Bulldogs, with the right to see Alabama in the second round.
Dreaming up all of these matchups and the first two days of the Playoffs is what makes the the 12-team playoff format such an electric environment. There is still room for improvement but this playoff is so much better than the Four Team and truly proves out the best team in the country.
Today's show ends with a quick review of the Buckeyes defense and the keys to the game for Ohio State. The Buckeyes must continue their awesome defensive performance and most importantly, need to get out of the game healthy.
Ohio State and UCLA kickoff at 7:30 PM EST on Saturday night.
