Buckeyes Likely Back Into the Top 2 After Instant Classic in Orlando

Ohio State is likely back in the nation's top two after the BYU Cougars fell to the UCF Knights in Orlando.

The Ohio State Buckeyes won the bye week, simple as that.

For the sixth week in a row, the college football slate has been insane. There were some incredible games on Saturday and a couple of massive upsets from start to finish. The one that takes the cake for the biggest upset of the day happened in Orlando at the Bounce House at UCF.

The No. 2 BYU Cougars came soaring into the game fresh off their crazy upset over the Notre Dame Fighting Irish last week that catapulted them to their highest ranking in nearly 40 years.

It didn't even last a full week because in double overtime, they fell to the Knights in a crazy back-and-forth affair.

And just like that, the Ohio State Buckeyes should move back into the top two and be ranked as the No. 2 team in the country.

There is no way that they will work themselves all the way up to the top spot in the country because Miami rolled to an easy win over Pitt in the noon window.

However, the Buckeyes should be firmly locked in as the No. 2 team in the country, even with them having to play a backup quarterback the rest of the way.

The theme here that is impossible to ignore, and such a good thing to have, is the parity that has taken over the sport of college football. Seriously speaking, is there any team in the country that you can confidently say will win the National Championship?

Every single team in the country has more than a couple of flaws, and no team has proven to be dominant in any stretch of the imagination.

That fact alone is why the Buckeyes need to just continue getting better. It's easy to compare the Buckeyes to their past selves, but the comparison should really be to other teams in the country.

The Buckeyes are not a perfect team, but there is no team in the country that they cannot beat.

Ohio State gets back to business next week against the team that is playing in the night slate, the USC Trojans. They have to go out west to play them inside the Coliseum at night in primetime with a brand-new quarterback.

The challenge will be a big one and if the Buckeyes are the No. 2 team in the country, hopefully they can break the trend of the Np. 2 losing each of the last two weeks.
