FOX College Football analyst Joel Klatt ranks his top-10 offensive players in the NFL Draft.

FOX College Football analyst Joel Klatt has watched and commented on nearly every college football player in America.

The SEC players will sprinkle into his coverage, but he gets the best of the best in the Big Ten week after week, so when he talks, people listen. Recently, he released his top-10 offensive players available in the NFL Draft this year, and, of course, the list included a Buckeye.

The first 10 picks of this year's draft are going to be very busy for Buckeyes fans. It is likely that there will be four Buckeyes selected in that range, and there is a chance that wide receiver Carnell Tate is going to be the second offensive player off the board.

Klatt would disagree with me that Tate would be the No. 2 offensive player off the board because he has Tate checking in at No. 4 on his big board of best offensive players.

The ranking is justified. Carnell Tate is simply an amazing wide receiver. His 4.5-second 40-yard dash is going to throw a lot of people off the scent, but it shouldn't. If you watch just one quarter of his tape, the evidence is very clear that he is the best wide receiver available in the draft.

Carnell is a fascinating receiver who, in my opinion, has a lot of staying power in the NFL. He is not a one-trick pony, and the contrary is actually true. He can do it all, similar to a former teammate of his, Jaxon Smith-Njigba.

If you need him to run out of the slot, he is your guy. If you need him to route up a cornerback from the outside position, he's got it. If you need him to run routes out of the backfield, he can be your guy.

Whatever team gets him is getting a legit player who is going to be a guy in the NFL for a very long time.

So, who beat him out?

Well, Klatt's list is as follows:

  1. QB - Fernando Mendoza
  2. RB - Jeremiyah Love
  3. T - Francis Mauigoa
  4. WR - Carnell Tate
  5. WR - Makai Lemon
  6. T - Spencer Fano
  7. TE - Kenyon Sadiq
  8. WR - Jordyn Tyson
  9. G - Vega Ioane
  10. QB - Ty Simpson

Tate is going to walk into any NFL franchise on day one and be ready to be the guy. He has that level of maturity and that level of skill to make a difference. Jeremiah Smith will be the final wide receiver in the Brian Hartline era, one that produced some of the best, consistent, NFL-level talent that you will ever see.
