Former Ohio State Buckeyes star wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. is going to be traded from the Arizona Cardinals in the near future.

Marvin Harrison Jr. had an incredible career with the Ohio State Buckeyes and entered the 2024 NFL Draft as one of the best wide receiver prospects in recent memory. That led the Arizona Cardinals to select Harrison with the fourth overall pick.

However, Harrison has struggled through the first three seasons of his NFL career and will now be traded away by the Cardinals. A destination has yet to be announced, but he won't remain a Cardinal for long.

He had his best season as a rookie, catching 62 passes for 885 yards and eight touchdowns. He appeared in 12 games in the 2025 season, with 41 receptions for 608 yards and four touchdowns.

In four games in the 2025 season, the 24-year-old has five receptions for 85 yards and a touchdown. These numbers are nowhere near what Harrison put up when he was a Buckeye.

He proved he can be an elite wide receiver during his time with the Buckeyes, and with a new opportunity in the NFL, he has a chance to revitalize his career.

Harrison will be inactive for Arizona's Week 5 matchup against the Detroit Lions. He has suited up in the first four games of the season, but the team is keeping him inactive, with a trade coming soon.

The trade destination for the former Ohio State star won't be announced until the games conclude on Sunday.

In the 2026 season with the Cardinals, Harrison has been targeted just 13 times, and there have been concerns about his effort level throughout the year.

During his time with the Buckeyes, he thrived at making catches in traffic and contorting his body to adjust and make tough grabs. That skill set hasn't been as evident in his first three seasons as a pro, but it looks like it will be unlocked with his next team.

In a new offense, Harrison has the chance to turn his season and NFL career around and become the star player he was expected to be coming out of college. He must take full advantage and become a reliable target for his new squad, as this could be his last chance to prove he can be an elite pass-catcher and a featured part of an offense.
