We are officially under one week away from the Buckeyes making history on draft night.

The Ohio State Buckeyes are on the verge of history next Thursday night in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

It has been nearly 60 years since one school had four players drafted in the top 10 of the NFL Draft. That team was, shockingly, the Michigan State Spartans in 1967. They secured picks one, two, five, and eight and have been the standard of early first-round greatness.

The Buckeyes have the opportunity to tie or overtake that next Thursday Night. On Thursday, one week from the NFL Draft, ESPN's new draft expert Daniel Jeremiah joined the Pat McAfee Show and talked about the chances that the Buckeyes will have at joining the Spartans.

Jeremiah said that he feels really good about Arvell Reese, Sonny Styles, and Carnell Tate being selected in the Top 10. The one player that is maybe on the outskirts of the top 10 is arguably the best player of the group, Caleb Downs.

The only true question about Downs is his position and how that all sorts out with seeing how teams evaluate him and see him as a fit on their defense.

Absolutely no one would be shocked if he lands with either the Cincinnati Bengals t pick 10 or the Kansas City Chiefs at pick No. 9.

The Buckeys historic 2026 Draft is absolutely no surprise to anyone. The roster that they had in 2025 was one of the best college football rosters that you will ever see.

The defense was the best in the country because at every single level, they had a legitimate star at the position. Reese is going to be the number two pick because he can rush the passer better than anyone. Styles is going to be the first off-ball linebacker selected since Devin White was chosen by Tampa Bay in 2019.

Ohio State's historic draft is not only top-heavy, but it is also going to be very well-balanced.

There will be Buckeyes selected in nearly every single round of this draft, with the expectation that they will not only make a roster but will be a contributor at some level next season.

The NFL Draft marks the beginning of their journeys in the NFL, and for several of the Buckeyes, they aren't going to have to wait very long to hear their names called.
