It's official: the Ohio State Buckeyes' 2026 training camp begins today, and the quest to the top is on.

The Ohio State Buckeyes' quest to the 2026-27 National Championship is officially underway as Training Camp begins on Thursday.

The Buckeyes put the finishing touches on what was an incredibly successful offseason, one that began as the calendar turned to 2026.

The Buckeyes exited AT&T Stadium on December 31st just filled with utter disappointment. They were beaten handily by the Miami Hurricanes in a game that unfortunately was never close. From the opening drive to the final one, the Buckeyes were outmatched, and their chance at repeating as Champions went by the wayside.

That was the starting point for Ohio State's offseason and they went to work.

Out went a few of the best players to ever play at Ohio State to the NFL Draft, and in came several transfer players that the Buckeyes are going to rely heavily on next year. Then, they went to the weight room and began to craft their skills.

Day after day, week after week, the Buckeyes ground away until they got the opportunity to show out in front of Buckeye Nation in Spring Ball. Practices looked smooth, and then the Spring Game came around, and they got to showcase their work.

Unfortunately, some bad weather rolled in, and it changed the approach that they took for the game. Jeremiah Smith only got two touches, and the two Buckeyes running backs were on the shelf.

Not much was taken from that day other than the fact that Chris Henry Jr. can go and Tavien St. Clair is going to take the baton right from Julian Sayin and not skip a beat.

That was the last that Buckeye Nation got to see from the team until Thursday, the opening day of Training Camp.

Camp begins with the feeling around the program being incredibly high. The team has the best player in football on offense and a defense that has a chip on its shoulder, with countless guys having to prove themselves on this defense.

The beginning of Training Camp is the start of the journey. This is the beginning of what is hopefully a five-month journey that will be one of the hardest that Ryan Day has had to go through. The Buckeyes have six Top 25 opponents on their schedule right now and seven opponents in the top 30 teams.

If Ohio State wants to get to the top of the mountain again, they are going to have to play in at least 10 games against Top 25 teams, which is unheard of.

It will be the biggest challenge in Ohio State history, and the trek begins on Monday. Ohio State's Training Camp is officially open. Happy football season!
