The Ohio State Buckeyes and head coach Ryan Day are on the verge of turning the program into a perennial dynasty.

Obviously, the first step of this process has already occurred, as Day and the Buckeyes were able to win the National Championship in 2024. And through 11 weeks of the 2025 college football season, Ohio State remains the undisputed No. 1 team in the nation.

However, in order to ensure the success continues in the future, recruiting is one of the most important ingredients to becoming a true dynasty.

Luckily for the incredible head coach, the Buckeyes are recruiting at an elite level throughout the 2026 cycle.

Rivals’ Hayes Fawcett reported on Monday afternoon that 2026 four-star athlete Legend Bey has flipped his commitment from the Tennessee Volunteers to Ohio State.

Bey is currently the No. 24-ranked athlete in the 2026 recruiting class, as well as a top-50 prospect in the state of Texas, according to 247Sports’ Composite. The Buckeyes have been on the pursuit of the young talent since January, but Bey would eventually commit to the Volunteers in June.

However, after a recent official visit to Columbus during the team’s victory over the Penn State Nittany Lions, the four-star prospect would flip his decision and commit to the Buckeyes.

Last week, Day made headlines by flipping two recruits in four-star cornerback Jay Thimmons and three-star offensive lineman Mason Wilhelm. This was followed by an additional commitment of four-star defensive lineman Emanuel Ruffin after his recent decommitment from Colorado.

With the news of Bey joining Ohio State’s 2026 recruiting class, the Buckeyes are now the No. 7-ranked program in the upcoming cycle, according to 247Sports’ Composite. The group is led by five-star wide receiver Chris Henry Jr., as well as 16 four-star recruits.

While Bey has spent his career as a quarterback at North Forney High School, the highly-regarded recruit will likely become a running back at the college level due to his impressive speed with the ball in his hands. Bey has recorded over 4,000 rushing yards throughout his time in high school, and will be a key weapon for the Buckeyes in the future.
