The Ohio State Buckeyes are turning the clock back with these sweet all-black alternative uniforms.
The Ohio State Buckeyes announced on Monday night that it is certain to get the fanbase fired up. They released their new alternative jerseys for 2026, and they are an ode to the past.
The Buckeyes debuted their 2026 alternative uniforms, which are objectively very clean. They are all-black uniforms with the Silver Buckeye stripes on the shoulders.
The last time that the Buckeyes rolled out the Tunnel Vision all-black uniforms was all the way back in September of 2022. Prior to 2022, Ohio State wore these uniforms in 2015 against Penn State, 2018 against Nebraska, and 2019 against Michigan State.
The last time against Wisconsin, the Buckeyes rolled to a 52-21 win over the Badgers on that September afternoon. Ohio State is 4-0 in their all-black uniforms.
The one addition to the uniform is the Silver Buckeye Stripes. The previous version of the Tunnel Vision jerseys had a more modern version of the stripe. The new version has a very nice set of new stripes.
Ohio State teased the Silver Buckeyes Stripes during the Spring Game a few weeks ago, which got fans excited about the impending surprise. Now, it is official.
The last alternative stripes that Buckeyes fans have seen were on the white uniforms in the 2024 National Championship game against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. That night went in favor of the Buckeyes, but the stripes totally left the uniforms in 2025.
Before the 2024 National Championship, the last time that the Buckeyes had the stripes was way back in 2022's Peach Bowl loss to the Georgia Bulldogs. That game lives in infamy in Ohio State lore as the Buckeyes couldn't get it done in a game that should have gone Ohio State's way for several different reasons.
The 2026 version of the Ohio State Buckeyes has one thing on their mind, and that is a National Championship. It has been an interesting couple of seasons in Columbus. Their one year of ultimate success came thanks to the first year of the extended playoffs.
Except for that, it has been several years of disappointment for the program. Now, as they look towards 2026, they are looking to put together a dominant season from start to finish, and in accomplishing that, they are going to look really sharp in their Tunnel Vision uniforms.
