Ohio State Head Coach Ryan Day Expects "Full Arsenal" Back On the Offensive Line

Buckeyes head coach Ryan Day expects to have the "full arsenal" back on his offensive line.

The Ohio State Buckeyes have waded through the last six weeks of the season piecing the offensive line together. Phillip Daniels had a month-long injury, Austin Siereveld caught an illness two weeks ago, and the line was shuffling around.

Coming out after the bye week, those days are gone. The Buckeyes used this last week not just as a quarterback competition, but also as a time to get healthy upfront.

On his weekly radio show, the Ohio State head coach said that he is expecting the "full arsenal" to be back and healthy for USC.

Man, that will be a sight for sore eyes for the Buckeyes.

If that does end up being the case, the line upfront will be Ian Moore at left tackle, Luke Montgomery at left guard, Carson Hinzman at Center, Siereveld at right guard, and Phillip Daniels at right tackle.

We got just two weeks of this group up front before Daniels' injury shook everything up, but this is the perfect week for the health to come all the way back. USC shouldn't scare anyone at all, but one area that the Buckeyes can really take advantage of is the line of scrimmage.

USC had a chance last week to set up a major ranked matchup if they had just won at Wisconsin. The Badgers had other plans.

Wisconsin had just 54 passing yards during a game that they won 24-7. Wisconsin dominated the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball, rushing for 200 yards and recording five sacks on defense.

It was pure domination by the Badgers from a physical standpoint, and they laid out the blueprint for taking down the Trojans.

That would be a good thing under normal circumstances, but the fact that the Buckeyes are potentially starting a true freshman quarterback goes right into what the Buckeyes' offense needs.

Ohio State can be patient on the ground game, but their new quarterback can put them in advantageous situations, and they rely on the ground game to win the game.

It will also be a chance for the Ohio State offense as a whole to get back on track in the run game. They took a step back against a really good Indiana defense, but they are going to need to have a strong rushing attack for the rest of the way.

To get things back pointing in the right direction, it is going to be a major help to have the offensive line at full strength.
