Ohio State linebacker Arvell Reese is one of the top prospects in the upcoming NFL Draft.

Ohio State Buckeyes linebacker Arvell Reese has been a major reason for their success this season.

Reese has been one of the best defensive players in the league, making him one of the top prospects in the NFL Draft.

The 20-year-old linebacker is having an incredible season, as he has 59 total tackles, 6.5 sacks, and 10 tackles for loss.

In CBS Sports' latest mock draft, Reese is projected to go second overall to the New York Giants. He is a talented pass rusher and has the versatility to line up as an edge rusher or at inside linebacker.

“Now his athletic ability, his mindset and now his understanding of what goes on in that room with what (linebackers coach) James Laurinaitis has done in terms of just the football IQ in that room has allowed him to play at a high level," head coach Ryan Day said.

Defensive coordinator Matt Patricia has gotten a ton out of Reese and has set him up for success when he moves up to the NFL.

The draft board will continue to shake up, as the order isn't set in stone. However, if the Giants do end up taking Reese, he could be a phenomenal player to add to their defense.

New York has a very talented defensive line that includes Brian Burns, Abdul Carter, Kayvon Thibodeaux, and Dexter Lawrence. They also have linebacker Bobby Okereke, and adding Reese to the mix could make the most formidable front seven in the league.

The Giants also have a couple of building blocks on offense in quarterback Jaxson Dart and running back Cam Skattebo.

Adding Reese to the mix could propel New York as they continue to develop talent through their rebuild.

“It’s been awesome,” middle linebacker Sonny Styles said about playing with Reese. “I think we feed off each other. He does a great job. He’s physical, flies around. You see him off the edge. I think we just complement each other very well.”

Reese will look to build on his great season as the Buckeyes make a run for their second straight National Championship. When the NFL Draft comes around in April, he will hear his name called early.
