Ohio State Pulling Out All of the Stops Ahead of Major Game Against Oregon

The Ohio State Buckeyes are pulling out all of the stops for their matchup against the Oregon Ducks.

The Ohio State Buckeyes know that they need to make a run to end this season to get where they want to go this year. Their backs are completely against the wall after their total dud of a performance last week against USC.

Furthermore, it looks like they are going to have to go through the rest of their season with their backup quarterback.

So, their backup quarterback is going to have to go undefeated if the Buckeyes want to win the National Championship. Sound familiar?

Yes, it was the exact thing that Buckeyes' legend Cardale Jones had to do way back in 2014. At the beginning of the season, quarterback Braxton Miller couldn't play the position because of an elbow injury. JT Barrett led the way for the Buckeyes, going the entire season and playing some elite football until the Michigan game.

In that game, Barrett broke his ankle and was sidelined indefinitely. That put Jones into the starting role, and with it came the beginning of an unbelievable story.

Jones took over and led the Buckeyes to a really nice win over Michigan before being totally unleashed against Wisconsin in the Big Ten Championship game. Then, he led the Buckeyes "through the heart of the South" against Alabama before taking down, that's right, the Oregon Ducks in the Championship.

That entire stretch was incredibly fun for Buckeye fans everywhere, and those will be lodged in their minds for the rest of time.

They will all be brought to the forefront on Saturday afternoon when Jones leads the Buckeyes onto the field as the honorary "bell ringer" for the game.

The connections here are so obvious, and this decision is a complete no-brainer. The Buckeyes need to go on a miracle run, and they need to start that run against the Oregon Ducks, the final team Jones took down on his very own miracle run.

Jones is often around the program a lot and it is always so good to see him back and remember that insane run that he went on. It was truly one of the best stretches of football you will ever see.

Now, the responsibility this time around is much different. Jones needed to win 3.5 games while Luke Fahey was tasked with winning 9. He failed in his first one, so he must rack up 8 straight wins against really good football teams in order to get it done.

The task is tall, but they must take it one at a time. They can absolutely get it done unless they slip up on Saturday. Hopefully Cardale Jones can bring all of the good luck.
