Ohio State's Sonny Styles Joins Elite List of Legendary NFL Linebackers cover image

The list of players who tested better than Sonny Styles is a short one, but they can help us predict where he will go in the NFL Draft.

Not many people put on a better show at the NFL Combine than Ohio State's Sonny Styles did on Thursday in Indianapolis.

Styles showed the entire world that he is the best athlete in this upcoming NFL Draft and is likely one of the best pure football players in the draft. There isn't anything that he can't do on the football field, and apparently, there is nothing that he can't do off the field.

Comparatively, there are not many people who have put out better performances, and the ones who have will give a good idea of where Styles could potentially go in the draft.

Draft experts are speculating that he could go anywhere from No. 9 through No. 15, but that ceiling is going to continue to get higher and higher as we get out of the shadow of Thursday's performance.

Styles joins a list from Next Gen Stats that includes Ryan Shazier, Luke Kuechly, AJ Hawk, and Isaiah Simmons with the best NGS Scores after the combine. Styles' 94 score ranks him fifth on this list, but we can use this list to figure out how high he could possibly go in the upcoming draft.

The only thing working against him is the position that he plays. Had he been literally any other position, he would be a legitimate top-5 pick, but instead, he is an off-ball linebacker, and the value there just isn't as high.

So, from that list, Shazier was the 15th overall pick to the Pittsburgh Steelers, Kuechly the 9th to the Panthers, Hawk the 5th to the Packers, and Simmons the 8th to the Arizona Cardinals.

My estimate is that the first team that could take a legit chance at him is the Tennessee Titans at No. 4. This would be unprecedented, but the matchup of Styles and the Titans' new head coach, Robert Salah, is almost too perfect.

Salah has had his most success in San Francisco when he had a linebacker who was just an absolute terror in the middle of his defense. If it isn't the Titans, the next team that I could see taking Styles would be the Washington Commanders at pick No. 7.

Styles isn't making it out of the top-10, and I predict that he could go as high as No. 4 to the Titans.
