Ohio State star wide receiver Jeremiah Smith will likely never test, but if he did, these would be his numbers.
Ohio State wide receiver Jeremiah Smith is likely not going to need to test next year to be still the No. 1 or No. 2 pick in the 2027 NFL Draft.
The only thing testing will do for the future NFL star is hurt his draft stock, which will presumably be through the roof. However, after Smith's amazing commercial with Battle, he had a little bit of fun thinking about what his numbers might be.
This won't surprise you, but the numbers that he predicts are objectively hilarious. They are completely just video game numbers and are nearly impossible to comprehend for a guy of his size. Standing at 6'3" and 233 pounds, Smith predicts that he would run 4.33, 30-plus bench press reps (225 lbs), a 40-plus inch vertical, and a 10-plus foot broad jump.
Those numbers specifically are laughable. Someone of his size and stature should not be able to move that easily with that much explosiveness. Jeremiah Smith is closer to a robot than he is a real human being, so that part of it makes sense.
On the football field, those types of explosive numbers make plenty of sense. Watching him compete against fellow college athletes is simply not a fair fight. He is such a matchup issue thanks to his skill and size. What he is able to do between the white lines is special, and it is something the Buckeye fans have become accustomed to.
Ever since Smith's first week as a Buckeye, he has taken this league by storm. He finished that very first game with six catches for 92 yards and two touchdowns. He wasted no time and was off and running.
His second year was more of the same. The Buckeyes went to Smith over and over, and he answered the call nearly every single time. He finished last year with 87 catches for 1,243 yards and 12 touchdowns to lead the Buckeyes on offense as best he could.
Now, heading into this year, Smith needs to have two goals: finish the season healthy and set the NCAA on fire again this year. Is it a 100 catch, 1,500-yard season? Maybe it is just reaching the 20 touchdown threshold, or maybe it is just helping the Buckeyes get back to late in the playoffs.
Regardless, Smith is the most gifted prospect and player we have ever seen, and we are lucky to have him, even if just for one more year.
