The big obstacle for them will be the schedule, which looks pretty tough. However, this team has what it takes to win.

Week 1: vs vs Ball State, Win
Ohio State will be firing on all cylinders in the season opener. Buckeyes start the year 1-0 with a win over Ball State.
Week 2: at Texas, Loss
This is a rematch from the opener from a year ago where Ohio State pulled out a big win. However, this time around, I like the Longhorns to get some revenge.
Few remember, but Texas outplayed Ohio State in the second half last season. Texas picks up the massive win, sending Ohio State into some panic mode early in the year.
Week 3: vs Kent State, Win
After losing to Texas, Ohio State comes out with a vengeance against Kent State. This game will be over by halftime, with the Buckeyes leading by 30 or more.
Week 4: vs Illinois, Win
Illinois has been good in recent years, but they may take a step back in 2026. Ohio State getting them at home gives them an edge.
The Buckeyes keep the victories going, grabbing a third straight win.
Week 5: at Iowa, Win
Having to travel to Kinnick Stadium is always a challenge, and Iowa's defense is usually pretty good. But Ohio State isn't going to have a let down game here.
I like the Buckeyes to get the massive road win early in the year.
Week 6: vs Maryland, Win
Maryland could be a sneaky team this season, but not in this game. Ohio State easily wins this game, even with a looming game against Indiana coming.
Week 7: at Indiana, Win
Playing on the road against the defending champions could be tough. But this Ohio State team is much better than Indiana.
Fernando Mendoza is no longer with Indiana, giving the Buckeyes a better chance to win. I like Ohio State in this game.
Week 8: Bye Week
Week 9: at USC, Win
Having to travel out to Los Angeles isn't easy for a team like Ohio State. But this team is tested and will not allow a future matchup with the Ducks to take them down.
Give me the Buckeyes to win.
Week 10: vs Oregon, Win
This could be the toughest game of the schedule for Ohio State. All eyes will be on Columbus this weekend, with two of the best teams facing off.
But with the home field advantage, I like Ohio State to come away with the win, barely.
Week 11: vs Northwestern, Win
Coming off a big win, this game could be a trap. But playing at home should give the Buckeyes an advantage.
I like Ohio State to keep things rolling here.
Week 12: at Nebraska, Win
The final road game of the season sees the Buckeyes dominate against the Cornhuskers. I like Ohio State to easily take this game to keep the playoff dream alive.
Week 13: vs Michigan, Win
The biggest game on the Buckeyes schedule, with bragging rights on the line. After taking down the Wolverines a year ago, Ohio State will try to make it two in a row.
While the playoff is the goal, beating Michigan is a must and the Buckeyes get it done.
