Phil Steele is the authority when it comes to the college football offseason. He was once a former ESPN college football insider and has turned into the college football preseason prediction authority.
Every offseason, Steele writes a book that covers everything and everyone in college football. He starts with each team's roster and progresses to schedules, stats and then predictions on how the year will go.
As everyone could expect, this is a positive outlook for the Buckeyes from top to bottom.
Next year's Buckeye team is going to be absolutely loaded, or should be at least.
They have the best player in the entire sport playing wide receiver for them on offense. He has been the best player in football for the better part of the last year and a half, and going into his final season, he is going to have the entire world at his fingertips.
The rest of the Buckeyes' backfield are all guys who are going to be very relevant all season long. Julian Sayin will get Heisman votes, and Bo Jackson will become one of the best running backs in America.
Up front, the Buckeyes offensive line will be one of the most veteran groups in the country and will be the determining factor on how far this team will go next year.
On defense, there are a lot of superstars to replace, and the Buckeyes will do so a little from the transfer portal but mostly through the development of their young players. It should be a very talented group if they live up to expectations.
On Steele's preseason All-Big Ten list, there are a total of 16 Buckeyes who made the list. On the first team are Smith, Jackson, Austin Siereveld, Earl Little Jr., and Dalton Riggs. On the second team are Sayin, Luke Montgomery, John Walker, Payton Pierce, and Devin Sachez.
Rounding out the third team are Carson Hinzman, Phillip Daniels, Qua Russaw, Kenyatta Jackson, and Christian Allegro.
One player made it onto the 4th team and that was Connor Hawkins.
This isn't, by any means, an exact prediction of what is to take place. It could be way better or way worse for the Buckeyes, but this should set the expectations for what Vegas believes s to come.
