Everyone is dialed in on the 2026 NFL Draft, so why not take a look at 12 months to the 2027 NFL Draft?
A 2027 NFL Draft prediction was released, and with the very first overall pick, this exercise had the Cleveland Browns selecting Jeremiah Smith.
Smith is absolutely going to be in the conversation for the top overall pick in next year's draft without question. From the looks of it now, next year's draft is going to be absolutely loaded.
There are likely to be seven quarterbacks who enter their names in the draft, along with wide receivers, including Smith, Cam Coleman, Ryan Williams, Ryan Wingo, and many others.
Having a premium draft pick next year is going to be critical if teams want a chance at drafting Megatron Jr in Jeremiah Smith.
For Smith, that is still so far away. He and all of his Buckeyes have one thing on their mind, and that is getting back to the College Football Playoff and making a run back to the National Championship with the hopes of hoisting the trophy.
The Buckeyes' shortcomings in 2025 were hardly due to Smith. He put together another incredible season in his second year, and he grabbed 87 catches for 1,243 yards and 12 touchdowns. He did all of that while missing a game and a half due to injury.
Throughout Smith's first two seasons with the Buckeyes, he has been just as advertised. It will never be forgotten when Smith submitted his paperwork to commit to Ohio State, that Ryan Day was at the podium and faked passing out. In hindsight, he probably should have passed out because Smith has been the best wide receiver in College Football for two seasons.
He has 163 catches for 2,558 yards and 27 touchdowns. He is virtually unguardable as he is taller than every cornerback, probably 25 to 30 pounds heavier than every cornerback, he runs amazing routes, he is fast, technical, and he catches everything.
If you are designing a wide receiver in a lab, you would design Jeremiah Smith.
Here is to hoping that he makes it through 2025 healthy, and when he does officially turn his attention to the NFL, he is going to be the most coveted prospect available.
13 months from the 2027 draft, and he is the predicted No. 1 overall pick, and it is not that crazy of a thought to see him walk across that stage first next spring.
