

With redshirt junior running back Marcus Crowley medically retiring due to a long-term injury he suffered last season, the Ohio State football program now has 84 scholarship players on its roster, including the incoming freshmen who will arrive on campus in June.
That's one below the NCAA-mandated limit, which all teams need to be at or under by the start of fall camp in early August. The Buckeyes could now add a player through the transfer portal or give a scholarship to a walk-on player as a result.
Unlike last year, the five players taking advantage of the extra year of eligibility granted to all student-athletes amid the pandemic count against the limit. They are marked with an asterisk below.
With that said, the following is a full breakdown of Ohio State’s 2022 scholarship situation. It will be updated in the future as players decide to leave or join the program.
