Former Ohio State legend Joey Bosa has "likely played his final snap" in what has become a storied career.
Elite pass rushers are few and far between. That is true for just about every football team at every single level, except at Ohio State.
Part of what makes Ohio State Ohio State is that they seem to always have incredibly elite pass rushers no matter the era of football. One of the best was Joey Bosa from the early 2010s.
Bosa was incredible in his time at Ohio State and truly was different from all of the other elite pass rushers that were both on his team and had come before him. He stood at 6'6" and weighed in at 275 pounds.
Over his career he finished with statistical totals of 148 tackles, 50.5 tackles for loss (that number is insane), 26 sacks, six pass deflections, five forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, one interception and one fumble returned for a touchdown.
Read that again. He was incredible.
Bosa was nearly impossible to block and even when he did get blocked, he would knock a pass down. He was truly a dynamic player for the Buckeyes and was one of the key cogs in the machine when the Buckeyes rolled to the 2014 National Championship.
His stats on that run were incredible. He finished the 2014 season with 55 tackles, 21.0 tackles for loss, 13.5 sacks, and four forced fumbles.
He was special and was one of the major reasons that the Buckeyes did what they did and raised the trophy in 2014.
For all of his efforts, he was selected third overall by the then San Diego Chargers and immediately became one of the great Chargers. He would end up spending nine years with the Chargers before heading to Buffalo to play in 2026.
In the NFL where every team seems to be always trying to nail down their pass rushers, Bosa is an unrestricted free agent and a top target, no matter his age.
However, it seems as though his time playing football may be coming to a close.
In an interview with his younger brother, Nick, he revealed that Joey had been focusing more on his golf game than his football game. Then, Adam Schefter released a report on Wednesday that Bosa has "more than likely" played his final snap in the NFL.

If it is the end, it is a job well done and a career well done for Joey Bosa. Hopefully he enjoys the heck out of that golf game and can look back on his time for the Chargers and the Buckeyes with incredible pride.
He will forever be one of the greatest Buckeyes of all time.
