The Ohio State Buckeyes have an opportunity to make draft night history on Thursday Night.

The Ohio State Buckeyes have an opportunity on Thursday Night to make draft night history. Ohio State is currently projected to have four players selected in the top 10 of the draft.

It will be the first time since the 1967 Michigan State Spartans to have four players selected in the draft's top 10 picks.

Ohio State's 2025 team was absolutely loaded with talent, as they project to have 12 draft picks in this year's draft. The draft will start very hot and will continue from rounds two through seven.

That start, however, is going to be historic.

It is likely going to get going at pick No. 2 as the New York Jets are heavily rumored to be taking linebacker and edge rusher Arvell Reese. Reese has one of the best stories out of any player in the entire draft, as he went from an unknown prospect to the number two overall pick in just 12 months.

If he doesn't go with pick two, he is definitely going in the top 5. Another player likely to go in the top 5 is his fellow linebacker, Sonny Styles. Styles has so much potential that he has bucked the narrative that teams should throw positional value out the window because he is that elite of a player. He is heavily rumored to go to the Titans at four or the Giants at five.

After Styles, the next Buckeye off the board is going to be wide receiver Carnell Tate. Tate will be the third offensive player off the board and the first receiver taken on Thursday night. He is elite in almost every important aspect of playing the wide receiver position. He will land with any of Cleveland, New Orleans, Kansas City, or the Giants (10th pick).

The wild card in this entire scenario is likely the best player of the entire group, safety Caleb Downs. Like Styles, Downs is a player who is tailor-made for this era of NFL football. Safeties are required to play in both the post covering guys like Justin Jefferson and Ja'Marr Chase, but they are also required to play at the line of scrimmage, tackling guys like Derrick Henry.

It's a near-impossible task, but that is the job description, and Downs has it all. Downs isn't going to fall lower than 12 to the Cowboys, but if he cracks the top 10, it is because someone traded up for him, which is very likely.

Thursday night for Buckeyes fans is going to be so much fun from about 8:00 PM until 9:00 PM. It will finish up with a potential Kayden McDonald pick late in the first round.

Ohio State will prove itself as the best collection of talent in college football over the past two seasons, and it may rewrite history books as one of the most talented rosters ever.
