Ohio State Buckeye star Caleb Downs is coveted in next month's NFL Draft, and here are his top-three landing spots.

Ohio State was blessed with the arrival of Caleb Downs in Columbus before the 2024 season.

After legendary head coach Nick Saban announced his retirement after the 2023 season, Downs, along with several others, hit the transfer portal. Luckily for the fanbase, Downs decided to take his talents to Columbus to become a Buckeye.

His presence was felt immediately.

Downs plays football with an old-school nose for the football and physicality paired with new-school speed and athleticism. He is so smart, and he is simply just a coach on the field.

He is going to be a very coveted prospect in next month's NFL Draft, one that any franchise is going to be lucky to get their hands on.

Factoring in draft position and fit, here are his top-three landing spots.

No. 3:  Dallas Cowboys

If Downs drops to pick No. 12 and falls into the lap of the Dallas Cowboys, he would complete the trifecta for three of the top brands to play football for. Alabama, Ohio State, and then the Dallas Cowboys? Not sure how it gets much better than that.

Downs fills an immediate need that the Cowboys have and does it emphatically. Dak Prescott and the Cowboys' offense have simply been yearning for a defender that they could rely upon and build around. They thought they had that guy in Micah Parsons up front, but they dealt him away. Drafting Downs gives them a long-term solution on their defense that they can build around for years to come.

No. 2: Cincinatti Bengals

For the Southern Ohio State fans out there, this would be the perfect fit for that roster. For former Buckeye Joe Burrow, this would be a dream come true. Burrow and the Bengals offense have been left out on an island the past three years, and it has cost them two years of the prime of Burrow, Ja'Marr Chase, and Tee Higgins. Downs going to Cincinnati solves a very real problem for them and puts them back into the conversation as one of the top teams in the NFL.

No. 1: Kansas City Chiefs

Speaking of top teams in the NFL, the Chiefs are going to get blessed with a gift in this NFL Draft. Thanks to Patrick Mahomes ' season-ending ACL injury, they are well-positioned at the top of the draft to select a game-changing player. The Chiefs are in the midst of their dynasty run, and after back-to-back Super Bowls, they put up a stinker last year, and now, they add Downs in the back end and begin to solidify that defense again.
