Ohio State defensive back Davison Igbinosun has a lot to prove during Saturday's Panini Senior Bowl to continue improving his draft stock.

One of the most fascinating players in the last decade of Ohio State's football program is cornerback Davison Igbinosun.

The former highly-touted defensive back transferred to Ohio State before the 2023 season from Ole Miss after spending his first year there.

Opposite of fellow cornerback Denzel Burke, Igbinosun was a perfect No. 2 corner due to his lockdown tendencies. In 2025, he moved into the Buckeyes' No. 1 corner roll, and he answered the bell.

However, Igbinosun being quite the polarizing player during his time at Ohio State for a couple of reasons. Throughout his three years under head coach Ryan Day, he was prone to defensive holdings and pass interferences.

Luckily, he was able to clean a lot of that up as he developed as a player, but he never really was able to fully wash himself of that reputation.

Another reason is that for the vast majority of the past two seasons, the Buckeyes have been so dominant on defense that he was very rarely tested throughout his college career. It's hard for opposing quarterbacks to receive the opportunity to throw at him when guys like Jack Sawyer and Arvell Reese are getting to the quarterback in mere seconds.

Over the last two years, Igbinosun registered just 15 pass breakups and four interceptions. The numbers don't jump off the page at you, but the player certainly does when looking at the film.

Igbinosun has a rare build for a defensive back. He stands at 6-foot-2, weighing it at 195 lbs., while is also being blessed with elite athleticism. He moves so well and has a blend of quickness, speed, and rangy length that NFL teams crave. Plus, the talented playmaker also adds a fiery competitive spirit that is necessary to compete at the highest level.

Igbinosun is projected to be a Day Two selection in the upcoming NFL Draft, which slots him in either the second or third round. Whoever selects him is going to get a electric defender that can continue to develop into a lockdown cornerback.

Saturday in Mobile, AL, during the Panini Senior Bowl, is a big day for the defensive back during his quest to improve his draft stock. Igbinosun has had a very solid week during the practice sessions and will get his chance to show every NFL scout that he can run with all of the draft prospects.

The Panini Senior Bowl kicks off on Saturday afternoon at 2:30 PM on NFL Network.
