The Dallas Cowboys are likely to make a move up into the Top-10 to grab one of the four Buckeyes that are likely to be available.
Out of all of the teams in the NFL, the one that appears as the most likely to make a first-round blockbuster trade in next week's draft is the Dallas Cowboys. If they were to make a deal to get into the top-10, it is because they are eyeing up one of the Buckeyes that are going to be available.
Ohio State is likely going to have four former players selected in the first 10 picks.
Arvell Reese's stock is falling, but only marginally. If he doesnt go at pick No. 2, he isn't getting passed pick No. 4. Carnell Tate's sweet spot is between 5-9, while Sonny Styles and Caleb Downs are both going to go somewhere between 7-10.
The Cowboys sit at pick No. 12 with their eyes on one of the three Buckeyes defenders.
Dallas is begging, yearning for a competent defense. For the past five seasons, they have left quarterback Dak Prescott out to dry by putting nearly all of the responsibility on him to win football games.
Last year, they averaged 27.7 points per game on offense, while they gave up 30.1 points per game. Prescott threw for over 4,500 yards, and the team still went 7-9-1. Solving their defensive issues is a priority and project number one this offseason.
A good place to start is with either Caleb Downs or Sonny Styles.
In my opinion, I think that Styles is marginally the better selection. Styles is by far the better athlete; he is an intimidating figure, and everything about football just comes incredibly naturally to him.
The only negative part about his game is that he plays off-ball linebacker. It is just a position that isn't valued as highly as some of the others.
Downs, on the other hand, is all of those things that were said about Sonny, with just a smaller body frame. The thing that really sticks out about Downs is that he is mature beyond his years. The way he operates today is like he is already a five-year NFL vet.
Whenever he steps into an NFL locker room, he is immediately going to make that room better.
For the Cowboys, they are going to have to make a move to go get one of those two players. There are some teams looking to trade back, and the Cowboys just need to find a trade partner.
Whichever Buckeye they go get is going to make a day-one impact on their team, no matter what.
