Two Buckeyes Land on Draft Experts' 2027 Top 20 Big Board

Two Ohio State Buckeyes landed on Jordan Schultz's 2027 top-20 big board.

The NFL season seriously never slows down. It is one thing after another, and for some, the attention is already turned towards the prospects in the 2027 NFL Draft.

Now, obviously, millions of things will change between now and the 2027 NFL Draft, but the players at the top of the charts in May will likely be there in April of 2027. The top dog on the list is Ohio State Buckeye Jeremiah Smith.

Smith is by far and away the best player and the best prospect in college football. He has everything that any NFL program could ever want, and he has the skill to step in and on day one be the best player on an NFL team's depth chart.

Smith will be at the top of nearly everyone's prospect big board and will be legitimately in the conversation to be the number one overall pick in next year's draft.

However, he will not be the only Buckeye at the top of a list and certainly will not be the only Buckeye taken in the first round.

On Wednesday, NFL Draft expert Jordan Schultz released his top-20 big board, and along with Smith was one other Buckeye.

That player was none other than quarterback Julian Sayin.

The conversation around Sayin is going to be a fascinating one as the year progresses. There is not much about his game that screams NFL to anyone. While he is very accurate, he is limited in size, and his arm strength is good, not great. Furthermore, he isn't the best athlete on the field, and I'm not sure that today's NFL is fit for another Drew Brees.

With all that in mind, someone is going to take a chance on the young star because he has shown some clues that he has what it takes to be great. He has to prove a lot in his final year in college this year, and if he doesn't, he will find himself hearing his name called in the first round of next year's draft.

Sayin checks in as the No. 13 player on the Big Board and the third quarterback available behind Arch Manning and Dante Moore.

These two Buckeyes will likely be the first two Buckeyes to hear their names called next year, but before then, they have the expectation to get the Buckeyes back to a deep playoff run.

They need to accomplish the latter first before the former comes into play. It will be a fun 12 months for these two players, and if all goes as planned, they are in for quite the wild ride.
