Two Ohio State Buckeyes top the way-too-early 2027 NFL mock draft.

The NFL Draft ended around 5:00 PM on Saturday evening. Normal people would catch their breath and examine each NFL team's draft class and maybe go outside for some fresh air.

NFL fans aren't normal people. Immediately, the attention turned from the 2026 Draft to the 2027 Draft, which will be affectionately referred to as the Jeremiah Smith draft.

A "way-too-early" mock draft was released from Tankathon that just showed the first five picks, and in it were two Buckeyes. A shocker in the first round was Buckeyes quarterback Julian Sayin going at the third overall pick to the New York Jets, and then wide receiver Jeremiah Smith going four overall to the Cleveland Browns.

Next year's draft is going to be a really interesting case study to see who goes all-in for Smith. Smith has been the best player in college football for the last two seasons and will undoubtedly be it next season.

Barring any type of unforeseen and unfortunate injury, Smith is going to be the first non-quarterback off the board. You can chisel that one in stone.

Now, the question will be, is he good enough, and does he warrant enough value to be the first player off the board, period?

It's highly unlikely for that to be the case because of how valuable to quarterback position is, but it will be a very fun conversation.

Even beyond Smith, next year's draft is going to be loaded with Buckeyes.

Just on the offensive side of the ball, you will have the quarterback, at least two wide receivers, at least three offensive linemen, a couple of defensive linemen, maybe a linebacker, and one or two guys from the secondary.

if you thought that there was going to be a letdown from the 11 Buckeyes drafted in the 2026 NFL draft, think again.

The Buckeyes are going to be loaded again in 2026-27, and next year's draft will reflect it.

It will be up to the Buckeyes, as they stand right now, to make something out of their again loaded roster in 2026. 22025 was an incredible disappointment for Ohio State, losing in the Big Ten Championship and in the first round of the playoffs.

They will be back for it all in 2026-27, and if they reach their potential, this time next year will be all Buckeyes for the third year in a row.
