
The Pokes wrestling squad keeps it rolling and defeat Mizzou in its January 23rd match
COLUMBIA, Mo. – The No. 5 Oklahoma State Cowboys wrestling team delivered a dominant performance against the No. 18 Missouri Tigers, securing a convincing 33-3 victory in a Big 12 dual meet on Friday evening, January 23, 2026, at the Hearnes Center.
The Cowboys won nine of the ten bouts, showcasing their depth, technical prowess, and defensive stinginess by allowing just one takedown throughout the entire match.
This win improved Oklahoma State’s record to 10-1 overall and a perfect 5-0 in Big 12 action, while Missouri dropped to 8-7 overall and 2-2 in the conference.
The dual marked Missouri’s first home match since November 24, 2025, but the Tigers struggled to generate offense against a formidable Cowboy lineup.
Oklahoma State set the tone early with three bonus-point victories in the opening weights, building an insurmountable 15-0 lead before the first intermission.
The Cowboys extended their recent dominance in the series, now leading all-time 49-8-1, and have won the last four meetings dating back to Missouri’s narrow 21-20 victory on February 6, 2022.

• 133 lbs: No. 14 Jax Forrest (OSU) tech. fall No. 26 Gage Walker (MIZ), 16-1 (3:08). The freshman sensation scored two takedowns and two turns in the first period, securing his first ranked win and improving to 6-0.
• 141 lbs: No. 2 Sergio Vega (OSU) fall Easton Hilton (MIZ), 1:31. Vega countered for a quick takedown and cradle pin, moving to 10-0 with his sixth ranked win.
• 149 lbs: No. 12 Casey Swiderski (OSU) dec. Seth Mendoza (MIZ), 4-3. Swiderski’s first-period takedown proved decisive in a gritty battle.
• 157 lbs: No. 6 Landon Robideau (OSU) dec. No. 15 Teague Travis (MIZ), 5-0. Robideau controlled with a late first-period takedown and riding time against the former Cowboy.
• 165 lbs: No. 2 LaDarion Lockett (OSU) dec. James Conway (MIZ), 4-2. Lockett held off a late challenge, improving to 9-0.
• 174 lbs: No. 7 Alex Facundo (OSU) dec. No. 10 Cam Steed (MIZ), 2-1. Facundo earned a stalling point in the third for his fourth ranked win.
• 184 lbs: No. 3 Aeoden Sinclair (MIZ) dec. No. 8 Zack Ryder (OSU), 4-1. Sinclair’s third-period takedown provided Missouri’s only points and takedown of the night, marking his third top-10 victory this season.
• 197 lbs: No. 7 Cody Merrill (OSU) dec. No. 12 Evan Bates (MIZ), 4-0. Merrill dominated with riding time and nearfall points for his seventh straight win.
• HWT: No. 6 Konner Doucet (OSU) dec. No. 26 Jarrett Stoner (MIZ), 5-1. Doucet’s first-period takedown and riding time sealed the dual.
Key highlights included Oklahoma State’s defensive masterclass, surrendering just one takedown over their last 22 dual bouts.
Freshman Jax Forrest and Sergio Vega led the bonus-point charge, while Alex Facundo continued his hot streak against top-10 opponents.
For Missouri, Aeoden Sinclair’s upset was the lone bright spot in an otherwise challenging night.
