The non-conference matchup, originally slated for Wednesday, was moved up a day due to forecasts of heavy rain and inclement weather that threatened to wash out the midweek contest.

Missouri State (11-8) wasted no time jumping on top. The Bears plated two runs in the first inning on back-to-back home runs, one from Halle Studer and another contributing to Riley Baber’s multi-run night.

OSU starter faced early trouble, but the Cowgirls answered immediately. In the bottom of the second, standout slugger Claire Timm launched a solo home run to left field, cutting the deficit to 2-1 and sparking the home crowd.

The seesaw continued in the third. Missouri State pushed across one more run on an RBI knock to regain a 3-1 edge. But Oklahoma State refused to fold.

Amanda Hasler delivered a clutch sacrifice fly to plate a run, and Karli Godwin followed with an RBI single that tied the game at 3-3. The score remained locked through the fourth and fifth innings as both teams traded zeros.

The decisive moment arrived in the bottom of the sixth. With two runners on, Jayden Jones ripped a two-run double to left, giving the Cowgirls their first lead at 5-3.

Four batters later, Timm stepped in again and delivered the knockout blow, a towering three-run homer to center field. It was Timm’s second long ball of the night and her fifth of the young season, pushing the advantage to 8-3 and effectively ending any comeback hopes.

Missouri State went quietly in the seventh as the Cowgirls sealed the win in regulation.

Timm finished a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs scored and four RBIs, earning player-of-the-game honors in what has become a signature performance for the junior.

Jones added two RBIs on her double, while Tia Warsop contributed a multi-hit effort to keep the lineup rolling.

On the mound, Ruby Meylan was lights-out in relief, tossing four scoreless innings, allowing just three hits and striking out six to earn the win and improve to 6-4.

Her dominance after entering in the fourth prevented Missouri State from mounting any rally. For the Bears, starter Brylee Brewster was lifted in the third, and reliever Emily Koranda (now 5-3) took the loss after the late barrage.

The victory, again, showed Oklahoma State’s well-rounded attack and bullpen depth. The Cowgirls have been on an impressive roll this season, racking up wins in dominant blowouts, including a recent six-inning run-rule triumph, as well as tight, extra-inning battles where they buckled down, specifically against Nebraska last Thursday.

Tuesday’s comeback from an early deficit further highlighted that toughness, with timely hitting and lockdown pitching proving decisive once again.

Looking ahead, the No. 19/12 Cowgirls open Big 12 Conference play this weekend with a three-game home series against UCF.

Games are set for Friday at 6 p.m., Saturday at 2 p.m., and Sunday at 11 a.m., all at Cowgirl Stadium and streaming on ESPN+.

However, forecasts continue to call for rainy and severe weather across the region, raising the possibility that the series could face delays or postponements, much like the adjustment made for Tuesday’s contest.

With conference play now underway, Oklahoma State will look to carry this momentum forward. The homestand provides a prime opportunity to build on their strong 4-1 home record and establish themselves early in league.

Overall, Tuesday’s win was another building block in what has been a promising 2026 campaign for the Cowgirls.

Whether in lopsided victories or grind-it-out affairs, Oklahoma State continues to show the depth and determination needed for a deep postseason run.

Stay tuned for updates on the UCF series as weather developments unfold.
