The hype surrounding Drew Mestemaker keeps growing.
This time, it's coming from EA Sports.
The new Oklahoma State quarterback is one of only three quarterbacks in College Football 27 to earn a 90 or better rating in all three passing accuracy categories, placing him in some elite company before ever taking a snap for the Cowboys.
Mestemaker's ratings include:
- 94 Short Accuracy
- 94 Medium Accuracy
- 90 Deep Accuracy
The only other quarterbacks to reach the 90-plus mark across all three categories are Oregon's Dante Moore and Ohio State's Julian Sayin.
That's an impressive list.
Both Moore and Sayin entered the season as some of the most recognizable quarterbacks in college football.
Now, Oklahoma State's new signal-caller finds himself mentioned alongside them.
It's also another indication that EA Sports believes accuracy is one of Mestemaker's greatest strengths.
That shouldn't surprise anyone who watched him at North Texas.
Last season, Mestemaker completed nearly 69 percent of his passes while throwing for 4,379 yards and 34 touchdowns, earning American Conference Offensive Player of the Year honors and the Burlsworth Trophy.
Those individual ratings also align with how EA Sports views Oklahoma State entering the season. The Cowboys were given an 83 overall team rating, including an 85-rated offense, one of the highest offensive marks in the Big 12. With Eric Morris calling plays and Mestemaker leading the attack, expectations continue to rise for what this unit can accomplish in 2026.
The recognition also fits a pattern that's developed throughout the offseason.
CBS Sports has already identified Mestemaker as one of the quarterbacks poised for a breakout season.
Josh Pate recently highlighted Oklahoma State as one of college football's biggest dark horse teams because of Eric Morris' offensive system and the quarterback leading it.
Even at the Manning Passing Academy, Mestemaker generated buzz after a viral throwing drill, with many fans on social media praising his deep ball among a group that included Arch Manning, Julian Sayin and several other highly regarded quarterbacks.
Now, EA Sports has added another reason for Cowboy fans to be excited.
Of course, ratings don't win football games.
Those numbers will have to translate once the season begins.
It's hard to ignore though the growing national recognition surrounding Oklahoma State's new quarterback.
Everywhere you look, the expectations seem to be getting higher.
Whether it's analysts, fans, NFL Draft evaluators or now even a video game, the message has been remarkably consistent.
Drew Mestemaker is one of the most intriguing quarterbacks entering the 2026 college football season.
Now he'll get his chance to prove those ratings are deserved.
