AUGUSTA, GA — Oklahoma State University’s golf program stands as one of college golf’s true powerhouses, with 12 NCAA team championships, including titles in 2018 and 2025, and a legacy of producing PGA Tour players and major contenders.

For decades, Cowboys have flocked to Augusta National, with 28 OSU connected players making a combined 125 starts at the Masters. While no Cowboy has yet slipped on the green jacket, the program’s alumni have posted notable performances including multiple top 10 finishes, low round honors, and consistent representation.

Legends like Scott Verplank (15 starts), Bob Tway, and Rickie Fowler have left their mark, with recent standouts such as Viktor Hovland contending deep into the week (T-7 in 2023).

In 2026, a record six players with Oklahoma State ties teed off in Thursday’s opening round continuing the Stilly to Augusta pipeline. From pros to a rising amateur, these golfers brought the orange, but hoping for green, to the Masters this week.

Rasmus Neergaard-Petersen

The Danish native played college golf at Oklahoma State from 2018-2023, earning All-American honors and claiming the 2020 Oklahoma Golf Association Stroke Play Championship.

Now a solid PGA Tour and international player, Neergaard-Petersen secured his Masters debut via a strong 2025 campaign capped by a win at the Australian Open. He teed off at 8:02 a.m. ET in the first group featuring two-time Masters champion José María Olazábal and Aldrich Potgieter.

Neergaard-Petersen shot five over, 77, finishing T-65 after round one. He’ll return to the course for round two at 11:15 a.m. ET on Friday, alongside the same pairing.

Viktor Hovland

Arguably OSU’s most decorated recent alum, Hovland starred for the Cowboys, helping secure the 2018 national title and capturing the individual NCAA crown that year. The Norwegian has blossomed into a multiple PGA Tour winner and major threat, with seven career victories and a best Masters finish of T-7 in 2023.

He teed off at 10:43 a.m. ET on Thursday in a star studded group with Patrick Cantlay and fellow Cowboy, Alex Noren.

Hovland posted a three over, 75, landing him T-48 after round one. His Friday tee time is 1:56 p.m. ET in the same group.

Alex Noren

The Swedish veteran spent his college years at Oklahoma State (2001-2004), where he was a two-time All-American and helped build the program’s modern reputation.

A proven winner on both the PGA Tour and DP World Tour, Noren has made multiple Masters appearances but seeks his first deep run. He joined Hovland at the 10:43 a.m. ET start on Thursday.

Noren struggled to a five over, 77, tying for 65th after round one. He’ll tee it up again at 1:56 p.m. ET Friday with Hovland and Cantlay.

Sam Stevens

A key member of Oklahoma State’s 2018 national championship squad, Stevens turned pro and has steadily climbed the ranks, earning his PGA Tour card and posting three runner-up finishes in recent seasons.

Making his Masters debut in 2026, the 29-year-old showed promise in his first round.

He teed off at 11:03 a.m. ET alongside Sungjae Im. Stevens delivered an even par 72, sitting T-17 and well inside the projected cut line. He’ll start round two bright at 7:40 a.m. ET on Friday with Im.

Wyndham Clark

Clark spent one impactful season at Oklahoma State before transferring and launching a successful pro career that includes a 2023 U.S. Open title and multiple PGA Tour wins.

The 32-year-old has shown flashes at Augusta, with a T-46 finish in 2025. He teed off at 11:27 a.m. ET on Thursday with 2003 Masters champion Mike Weir and amateur Mateo Pulcini.

Clark matched Stevens with an even-par 72, tying for 17th after round one. His round-two start is scheduled for 8:02 a.m. ET Friday in the same group.

Ethan Fang

The current Oklahoma State junior from Plano, Texas, helped the Cowboys claim the 2025 NCAA team title as a first-team All-American.

Fang made history in 2025 by becoming the first American in 18 years to win the British Amateur Championship, earning his Masters invitation. At just 20, he’s the youngest in this OSU group and a favorite for low amateur honors.

Fang teed off at 11:51 a.m. ET on Thursday with Danny Willett and Davis Riley. He posted a solid 2-over 74, finishing the day respectably. He’ll play round two at 8:26 a.m. ET Friday alongside Willett and Riley.
